Justin Forsett

Recommended Posts

Reports are he is expected to be "clear lead dog" in Baltimore backfield after fully recovering from broken arm.

Do you dare touch him and what kind of season are you expecting from him?

PPR league he should remain solid. He was on pace for 1000-4, & 45-300. I would guess he'll be roughly around the 15th RB off the board.

No fan of Forsett. I know he came on a couple years ago, but a smallish 31 year old RB, with so-so speed and little goal line skill tells me the Ravens are probably prime for a committee situation. Javorius Allen will likely take most of the pass catching work from Forsett as well, although Allen is a very pedestrian RB. I think this is just a bad situation overall. I am actually giving the Ravens passing game a tick up (having added a couple people into or back to the mix) given the mediocrity of their RB situation. Dare I say this situation is so murky that I've actually been keeping my eyes on Terrance West of all people.

I have also been wondering....

Given Forsett's age, it's tough to believe that hes hanging onto that starting job for long.

either his production will drop or he will most likely get injured. (or both)

Hes a risky pick for sure. Certainly not someone you want to be your starter. I could see value in him as a backup and for spot starts against selected opponents.

Yea. I do NOT see a RB-2 here. I see a guy, as you said, who could come in and give you some good games here and there. I see no one primed to take the job, just a bunch of guys. So even if it's a RBBC, then I could still see Forsett having 2 or 3 games where he does quite well. Hopefully those will be on your bye week. He is WAY down my list, along with Bears running backs in that both teams have a bunch of guys vying for the lead dog role, but neither team has a guy that's actually that good. These are two of the absolute worst running back situations for fantasy football. There are teams much worse (San Fran, Cleveland) but there is a better focus on those situations.

Despite his age, going on 31, Forsett doesn't have but 700+ carries in his career. Plus it isn't like he's coming off a knee injury. If he comes out running hard in the preseason, his stock could boom.

I'll gladly let someone else take him. LOL.

Hey what do I know...I am IN LOVE with Ryan Matthews this year and that dude can't play all 16 games for anything.

Dixon is going to take that job at some point during the season .

Right now Forsett is the go to guy , I'm thinking that Dixon moves up and or even Allen .

Either way I see all three Rbs getting a lot of work.

I will pass on Forsett/Allen and stash Dixon. I would recommend the same. The kid's foot frequency is off the charts. He is gonna be a HUGE asset to those who draft him late. Fantastic value.

Dixon has some nice things such as he being a well-rounded football player, but he doesn't have very impressive measurables. However, he appears to be a very polished receiver and with trestman running the offense there, he should get plenty of garbage catches if he gets in. I think Dixon is a player to focus on at the draft, but temper expectations.

^ Mostly agree but Buck Allen was a decently fine receiving back in his own right. Anywho that's what lead me to choose Procise over Dixon in my dynasty startup.

More receiving cooks in that kitchen than just Dixon.

Good point. Allen was good as a pass catcher, but isn't a great runner. Can Dixon be better as a receiver than Allen? Or just as good? Again, none of these guys blow me away.

I know he's an afterthought, but don't forget Lorenzo Taliaferro is in that backfield too.

West has moved ahead of him on the depth chart I think. Taliaferro is not fast or elusive. Another ho-hum RB in this stable of mediocrity. I don't want to touch this thing with a 20 foot pole, though because our roster sizes are so big and we're having our draft on July 30th I may blow a late pick on one of these schlumps just in case. The two I am keeping my eye on are Dixon and West.

The issue I have with West is: Can he contribute on special teams? Because neither he nor Taliaferro is making this team without doing something other than just running the ball. While I'd agree he's a better back (not saying much), Taliaferro played on 36% of the special teams snaps in 2014 and contributed a bit, but not much, last season in his limited usage in three games.

Yea not sure. I think one of West or Taliaferro gets cut and if special teams is the calling card then there is your answer. I think the Ravens will see if West can be lightning in the bottle and if he isn't a clear upgrade as RB-1 I suspect he'll get sent packing. But his work ethic and maturity do seem to be on the rise. Now the question is, is he good enough? I just don't know, but I don't think any of these guys are much. Dixon, to me at least, is unproven at this level. Maybe he can get it done. The unknown for us fantasy leaguers always leads to the 'what if' scenario, which is what keeps us coming back...finding that diamond no one else sees and making the right play to get him.

Depends on what his ADP is and how my team looks. But I think he will have a decent season. Nothing spectacular but enough to warrant me drafting him as a rb3

RB3 is respectable and then I'd use late picks on fliers and sleepers, possibly even one on the Ravens roster. Can't believe I even said that

I'd grab him and Dixon with a deep roster, if I grab my RBs late as planned.

I'm avoiding the Ravens RBs. Looks like it could be a hot mess.

Someone is going to get lucky and pick the right running back. I never do in these situations so I will just avoid it. I have Taliaferro in a dynasty but am not expecting him to make my final roster.

Sounds like me. I always tend to grab the wrong one in these types of situations

I agree west is a player to watch.

I see flashes that make me think he could be a great player, but then I see flashes where I wonder where his head is at.

I think he has the talent to start in this league. Maybe it just comes down to getting the right coach or the right system.

I havnt seen what he has done here, but I think his chances are as good as anyones of becoming the starter.

I suppose only time will tell. If I had to decide now, I wouldnt draft anyone on this team, but if West looks like he will become the starter I might use a waiver wire pickup on him. (or I'll grab him late if it looks like he has a chance to start)

As thin as RB appears to be I would take him if need be. I wouldn't want to rely on him as a week to week starter but he would be decent depth. Who knows, if he stays healthy for 16 games and holds onto the starting job he could end up being a solid RB2 or Flex.
