I can't pick just one. A few of my favorites:

13 Songs / Steady Diet of Nothing - Fugazi

Funhouse - the Stooges

Pink Flag - Wire

Entertainment! - Gang of Four

Rather Ripped - Sonic Youth

Endtroducing ... - DJ Shadow

Slanted and Enchanted - Pavement

Surfer Rosa - Pixies

Bone Machine - Tom Waits

Superfly - Curtis Mayfield

There may be more. These are the ones I seem to go back to over and over. I left off newer stuff since who knows if they will stand the test of time.

Don't know if it's my "favorite" album, but as far as beginning to end greatness, I love Moondance.

The Rolling Stones are my favorite all time band. They were at their blusiest best on:

Exile on Main street

I'm not a huge Springsteen guy but his Born to Run album has got to rank as one of the greatest rock albums.

An Iron Maiden album.

Live after Death was awesome, but that was a concert album.

Piece of Mind or Number of the Beast were both outstanding all the way through.

Also, GNR Appetite for Destruction is one of my all time favorite albums as a well.
