Am I Really Getting Bored With Fantasy Football?
BUCKEYES replied to Perennial Contender's topic in FFToday Board
It's interesting you brought this up because I am feeling the same way. Actually started not caring as much last season and I thought about bailing before this one. I have been a commissioner for a competitive league for approximately 20 years. Most of the teams have been in the league since the beginning as well. What's weird is my schedule hasn't changed much in the last few years but I just find myself not wanting to spend as much time on it as I did in the past. I just don't care about it that much anymore. A victory was joyous and a loss heartbreaking....now neither really matter. I think its time -
My team sucks!!! QB - T. Brady QB - J. Flacco RB - L. McCoy RB - R. Bush WR - A. Jeffrey WR - C. Patterson WR - M. Floyd WR - R. White TE - Z. Ertz

Many good points on both sides of this that's causing my brain to swell. I feel pulling the trigger on one of the elite QB's is easier towards the back of the draft so let me ask you all this. If you are sitting with the 1st or 2nd pick in a traditional snake draft, are you picking one of the top 3 QB's over one of the top couple rated RB's knowing your second pick isn't coming until the end of the 2nd?

Think I am going to chime in here as well...I think more luck is needed than anything and I don't know if one way is better over the other. Having one of the big three QB's doesn't guarantee you anything. I am in a 6pt TD passing league and I lead the entire league in scoring and I did NOT have Manning, Brees, Rodgers, or everyone's golden boy Graham. As a matter of fact my 1st 4 draft picks were D. Martin, S. Ridley, R. Bush, and D. Amendola. OUCH that looks even worse in print. To add insult to injury I also had Gronk so my team was a MASH unit. The team that had manning's record breaking performance didn't win our league either. Someone mentioned it being a crap shoot picking a QB in the middle rounds and to that I say it's even a bigger crap shoot trying to pick quality starting RB's & WR's in the middle rounds. I would much rather take my chances filling out my roster with the other skill positions and later draft QB's such as Ryan, Romo, Cutler, Newton, Luck. They can be had several rounds later. I agree the NFL is continuing to move to more of a passing league. Not only does that make the elite more attractive it also allows for some of the lesser know QB's to have the ability to throw for 4000+ and 30+. A few years back very few could eclipse this mark and now multiple times per season. Now we are getting into the 5000 range. Maybe we can revisit this post after the season and compare

Thursday Night Results - Do they affect your lineup decisions for Sunday?
BUCKEYES replied to BingoBrown's topic in FFToday Board
Just went back to look at my reply to this. I freaking hate starting guys on Thursday nights. Have Ridley tonight and now I have to sulk for the next few days. No more! I don't care who is playing who, I am done starting people on Thursday nights... -

I hate starting players on Thursday's just for the simple reason if things go south you have to sit with that feeling for a few days. Obviously it can go the other way. If I have two similar players and one is on Monday and the other Thursday I choose the former. I understand this is in no way sound advise but at least I always have hope on Monday night. -
Our league does it by points scored in said given week. Might not be the most fairest way but after nearly 20 years in this league nobody has ever complained. That's the good thing about having a horrible week. If you scored the fewest points you will be first to claim a free agent regardless of your record.

That is exactly how we break tie breakers
-
There is a tie breaker policy in place. I just didn't think having more wins would actually mean we have the same record based on the situation. I lose the tie breaker
-
I believe it starts head to head which we will be tied and then moves to division record which I will then lose. Looks like I am on the wrong end of this and my season is over. Thanks for everyone's responses
-
LOL...If it comes to that then there won't be an issue
-
Many of you say most wins would advance but others say we are tied and then need to move to our leagues tie breakers. Opinions are pretty much divided. Any other opinions to this?
-
I agree something like this may not seem too complicated but when you're in a league with good friends you don't to tick anyone off so it's nice to hear responses from others who have nothing to gain or lose by stating their opinion. Thank you for your response!

I agree with all your points and next year we will go to decimal point scoring
