league drafts

Recommended Posts

I thought it would be fun to post some of our line-ups. My main league for years seems to be dieing. Been 12 teams for longest time to 10 last year and 8 this year. Not much fun when theres so many good players to be picked up but heres how things went.

Start- 2 RBs, 2 WRs,1 TE, 1 QB, kicker and defense, 2 flex

Round

1-Leveon Bell

2-Demarco Murray

3-Travis Kelce

4-Ty Montgomery

5-Joe Mixon

6-Doug martin

7-Ameer Abdullah

8-Donte Moncrief

9-Eric Ebron

10-Cameron Meridith

11-Davonte Parker

12-Eric Decker

13- Justin Tucker

14-Houston DEF

15-Eli Manning

16-Matthew Stafford

I liked I snagged Kelce a bit early and as you can see I went RB heavy and may need to pick up some WRs as the injuries take there toll. I also liked how I waited on QB till the last 2 picks and play the better match-up for the week. Tucker and Houston Defense 2 rounds early instead of the end was nice. Insight and your line-ups will be fun to break down if anyone wants to.

I don't like it at all. In an 8 team league you need to rely more on starting studs than depth players. You punted WR till the 8th round then took a back up TE before taking your second WR? Should have taken your QB before taking a second TE. Not a fan of taking a second QB either. When there are only 8 teams there are plenty of QBs to be had on waivers so load up on the best RBs and WRs during the draft.

It reaches a point where all wrs are the same value, i wanted the second TE and landed him and still got same value out of WR. If you go 2 RBs first then you wont get a stud WR, as for QBs i got 2 that will throw alot and wont have to worry if i can pick them up or not and play best match-up for the week. Also you have to know who you play with. People wont take risks on drafting players from there teams, but still will want them. Ebron plays he still has value, verses taking a risk on a hunch for a TE if Kelce would go down or a flex in a pinch. I don't know your rules for your league, but I'm happy with this for how our format is set up.

Agreed. I'm guessing the 2nd pick... I have a hard time believing that Kelce was the BPA at pick 18.

How do you guys feel I did in my draft? I drafted a full two weeks ago before the Elliot suspension, but I'm confident I can keep pace with the rest of the league til he gets back. 8 team PPR QB/2RB/2WR/TE/Flex(RB-WR-TE)

3- Rob Gronkowski

4- Brandin Cooks

6- Isaiah Crowell

7- Russel Wilson

8- Danny Woodhead

9- Jamison Crowder

10- Frank Gore

11- Eric Decker

12- Mike Gillislee

13- Marcus Mariota

After doing a 8 teamer you can get away with drafting Elliot early if your league has a set-up that's easy to make the playoffs. I wouldn't of went first round but looking at the guy who took him in the second round in ours should be okay and have Elliott for the playoff stretch.

You drafted an 8 Teamer and let WR go ?, Your starting WRs are very weak, even for a 12teamer. You NEED to draft a starting lineup first, before filling your bench. That's classic rookie drafting. You won't see that in my 25year league. Looks like you will be starting 1-3 trying to trade those RBs for WRs.

I thought it was pretty much written in stone that you never ever ever admit you're in an 8-man Fantasy League.

And then post your team that would get beat by teams drafted in 12 team drafts.

Top 4 go so, essentially half the league. I like my odds of getting in and getting Zeke back for the home stretch.

Why? It's just as competitive, arguably more so. And it's a lot of fun with a close group of friends and isn't that the point?

There is arguably 10 studs at RB and 7 at WR before its a guessing game on who will be better. Yea its been over 20 years since ive played 8 teams but I'm sick of being weak at RB when they start to get injured. I like my WRs for the strategy I chose to take and fully aware ill have to monitor WR going forward. But at least I have the best TE possibly that wouldn't of made it back to me.

just drafted, 10th pick of 10 team non PPR

QB: Russell Wilson (7th rd)

RB: Melvin Gordon (1st)

RB: Ty Montgomery (5th)

WR: AJ Green (2nd)

WR: TY Hilton (3rd)

WR: Devante Parker (6th)

TE: Rob Gronkowksi (4th)

F: Emmanuel Sanders (8th)

D: Carolina (16th)

K: not yet

B: Bilal Powell (9th), Paul Perkins (10th), Eric Decker (11th), Thomas Rawls (12th), Matt Forte (13th), James White (14th), Rex Burkhead (15th)

*We have IR, so I can move Rawls there for Week 1 and pick up kicker

*NE plays Thurs night, so I targeted both White and Burkhead to see how they'll be used, knowing I can drop one (or both) from my bench after the game if there's no clarity.

*I'll have #1 waiver priority, so hedges need for handcuffing as of now.
