Keeper question

Recommended Posts

I pretty much know what I want to do....

but

I thought I'd get some second opinons.

here is the deal:

-standard league, no PPR

-Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR and one TE

We are allowed to keep 3

Potential keepers

At QB

Aaron Rodgers

At RB

DeMarco Murray

Isaiah Crowell

Doug Martin

Paul Perkins

At TE

Kelce

At WR

Hopkins

Who would you keep and Why?

I would keep Murray and Crowell for sure. Kelce, Hopkins, Aaron Rodgers, and Doug Martin are all enticing.

I do not know how quickly QB's go in your league and am one to wait on this position. Philip Rivers is a great get late in the draft.

Hopkins is an elite talent, but does he have someone that can get him the rock consistently? I don't think he becomes great again until his rookie QB gets some tenure under his belt. Savage isn't going to cut it in Houston.

I think Kelce is probably the safest play for the third keeper and gives you a competitive edge over most other teams in the league as there are only about 4 other tight ends that could produce like he can.

I think Doug Martin has a killer year this year as it is his contract year and that man loves to work his ass off for a new contract. He is suspended for the first three games though and you can only start two running backs anyway so that throws this option out. You can probably re-draft him as the suspension will scare others off too.

Obviously it is draft the best player available, but go get WR's early and often in your draft to make up for that hole I just left you at WR if you go this route. Good luck!

I normally dont keep QB's but in this league QB's go earlier than they should and Rodgers is the top QB on the board based on our scoring system.

I figure if I keep Murray and Crowell, along with Rodgers, I could go WR early and often (as you suggest) to get value. I could splurge early on a TE such as Kelce too. It's on my radar.

the tempting one to sub in was Kelce and I could replace Crowell with him, but I really dont like spending big on a TE. Either way, I have time, so I'll see what others have to say before making a final decision.

thanks for your reply

I can't hate on keeping Rodgers. He is hand down the best QB in fantasy. Nice reading your response as well. Take it easy.

I keep Rodgers, Murray, and Kelce. That way you have three #1 players at each position to anchor your team to build around during the draft.
