Superflex league

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever done one? Any insight?

It's basically like a 2 QB league but you are not forced to start a second QB. Most people are going to draft like it's a 2 QB league though. You're going to see a lot of QBs get drafted in the early rounds so be prepared. I wouldn't stress out about it though as you can get some great RBs and WRs while waiting just a bit on QB. It's certainly a change for drafting but can be fun.

Thank you--I'm drafting last in a 12 team league, so I'll have the advantage of seeing who and what positions everyone else targets

I am in a 2 QB league which is almost the same.

If you are drafting #12 in a 12 team league, I would expect about 3 RB's to go before your pick.

Bell, Zeke, and David Johnson. possibly one other.

there might be a WR who will go as well, but that's a bit of a crapshoot and really depends on your league and rules and such. if it's PPR you might even see 2+ WRs going in round 1.

the rest will be QB's.

top 4-5 QB's will be gone by the time you pick. after that, (depending on peoples preferences) you may see the QB's you rank 6-8 may drop to you so you may draft them at #12. if you are really lucky the QB yoiu rank at # 5 may drop to you, but I would bet against that unless its a PPR format which makes WR and RB a bit more valuable relative to the QB.

good luck

in the second round, you will see a lot of QB's going. and by the end of round 3 most of the top 24 QB's will be gone

Thanks, all. Surprisingly I took the second QB off the board with the 12 pick but they're going like hotcakes now (slow draft). Interesting strategy to employ...

I run one. Have for 4 years. I love the flexibility of it.

agreed. because there are 2 starting QB's, and not enough backups for everyone, you need to be very flexible in the way you approach the draft, and you need to be willing to change your strategy on the fly based on what is happening at the draft board (or auction as the case may be)

In a superflex (correct me if I am wrong) you do not have to start 2 QB's but usually it is in your best interest to do so. so I would expect that QB's wont quite have the same value as a 2 QB league where you MUST start 2. but your QB's ranked 12-24 will have substantially more value than in a conventional league.

In a 2 QB league all QB's expected to be starters and the top backups are rostered.

in a superflex, I"d expect the top backups wont be, but all the starters except perhaps the bottom 2-3 starters probably will be rostered.

Not all of the backups will be owned but the good ones will be for sure. Last year even though Mahomes never started he was rostered all season. Qbs avg more than any other position. They can (and do) put of some duds. Philip rivers had a game a few years back where he was projected for 22 and got 1 point.
