Mike Tomlin needs to go

Recommended Posts

Yes Tomlin should be fired ! Unfortunately the Steelers will not fire him. No way ! Maybe a coordinator ! Keith Butler maybe but he can not polish crap ! I think this coaching staff is here to stay.

Good luck in the playoffs !

The Steelers likely will not make the playoffs. With games left vs the Pats and at New Orleans, it's pretty likely they go 1-2 down the stretch and let the Ravens steal it. Hell, the Browns are actually still in the division hunt and the Steelers may likely finish behind them as well. If Tomlin misses the playoffs after being 7-2-1 at the 10 game mark, he has to go...right? :dunno:

In my opinion they would do well in firing Tomlin, trading Rothlisberger and Brown, then just start over. Unless they can get a coach in that could get those guys under control. But since 1969 they have only had 3 coaches.

They have the components to remain competitive and even compete for a championship. The core is just too good. Plus they will have 5 picks in the first 3 rounds next year, so they could have even more young talent around them. They just need someone who holds the team and each individual player accountable. When you are a great team you beat the good teams more than you get beat, and you destroy the weaker teams. Neither of that has happened this year. They need someone who brings that in the future.

I did not know the Steelers have 5 picks in the first 3 rounds of next years draft ! Wow !

They will have their own three, but got one for the Martavis Bryant trade to Oakland and should get another 3rd rounder for Le'Veon leaving. So, i guess technically they don't have it yet...but should get it.

Tomlin said Ben could have come back earlier but offense was in a flow. Lol.

Was sitting behind the Steelers bench, lots of Pittsburgh fans in the stands couldn't believe this. Just figured dude was hurt and couldn't do it. Then he came back in lol.

Thought Tomlin could've handled the clock better on the Raiders final drive. At the very least call a timeout and set that last FG up.

He had two. If everything played out the same (not assuming it would, just saying) he could have had over a minute left with his offense. You can stop the clock on offense anytime by spiking, you can't on defense. Horrible coaching, just horrible.

If Big Ben isn't a Democrat he really should be... He always blames anyone and everyone else...

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/ben-roethlisberger-antiquated-x-ray-machine-oakland-played-role-return-game-191328565.html

The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum is not exactly a world-class sporting facility. A few years ago, there was a drainage problem that led to raw sewage backing up into the baseball clubhouses in the building.

On Sunday, there were apparently dead rodents in a soda machine at the Coliseum.

And that may not have been the worst of things for the Pittsburgh Steelers-Oakland Raiders game, at least not where the Steelers were concerned.

During his weekly chat on 93.7 The Fan on Tuesday, Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said part of the reason there was a delay in his returning to the field in the second half was that X-rays on his injured ribs were inconclusive.

Roethlisberger was hurt in the second quarter, after being sacked by Clinton McDonald. He finished the half, but at halftime he got an X-ray.

But the machine was so old, the results weren’t clear.

Roethlisberger’s coach backed him up: later Tuesday, Mike Tomlin affirmed the story when he met with reporters.

So exactly how old is that machine? Is it at least younger than the one used on Dino in “The Flintstones”?

Tomlin said team medical staff gave Roethlisberger a pain-killing shot, and it took some time to kick in. And with the team not entirely sure what the injury was, Roethlisberger said general manager Kevin Colbert didn’t want him to go back into the game as a precaution unless it was an emergency.

Roethlisberger did end up returning to the game, which the Steelers lost on a last-second field goal.

None of Roethlisberger’s ribs were broken, but he does have bruises. Tomlin said he should be available this week against the New England Patriots.

So, the Steelers miss the playoffs with a 9-6-1 record, a half game behind the 10-6 Ravens.

If close games are lost by poor coaches, or even just coaching mistakes, consider 4 of the Steelers 6 losses this year.

Lost to KC by 5. Somewhat respectable, I guess.

Lost to Oak by 3. OAKLAND!

Lost to SD by 3. A game they flat gave away!

Lost to NO by 3. Again, respectable, but still a loss.

THREE 3 point losses! One to a horrible team and another a pathetic collapse.

Win any one of these games and they win the division and are in the playoffs.

Heck! Had they not tied and had beaten the Browns in week one when they were coached by an idiot and QBed by an average, at best, QB they tie the Ravens at 10-6 and win the division on best division record.

But nope. They are coached by Tomlin. So, no playoffs for them!
