Best of the rag-tag WR bunch

Recommended Posts

I have one team I went really RB heavy on which paid off, right up until Sanders got injured at WR and now I'm hurting. I have a WR spot that I've filled but am second guessing myself and looking for the wisdom of the masses (yes, I mean you guys). I have someone in the lineup already but I'm looking for someone to convince about these guys (all of who are available or on my roster already):

DJ Moore (CAR) @ CLE

Tre'Quan Smith (NO) @ TB

Josh Reynolds (LAR) @ CHI

Bruce Ellington (DET) @ ARI

DeVante Parker (MIA) vs NE

Dante Pettis (SF) vs DEN

Zay Jones (BUF) vs NYJ

If it matters, the rest of my team is Winston, Barkley, McCaffrey, Edelman, Kittle, FlexTBD (Jaylen Samuels/Joe Mixon/Spencer Ware), Texans DST and Zuerline. I'm #3 seed and top scoring team on the season but lost Conner and Sanders in the last week. Favored 143 to 123 (as if that means anything).

What say ye? Who's are the WR's (2 of them) to have this weekend AND rest of season? Why?

With the news that Denzel Ward is out for Cleveland I like Moore this week, after that depends on Cam's shoulder. Pettis is the 2nd guy, but haven't looked at Rams schedule, in a favorable matchup I would go him first. Against the Bears seems risky

I don't know the rest of the season schedule but looking at your team, I assume you want steady performers who can get you something like 6 - 7 catches and 65 - 80 yds ? Anything more would be gravy ??? You have enough fire power with your RB's that you're going to get some big numbers and if they roll the same week, then you probably only need 5 - 10 pts. That being said, I'd go with Moore who I think is the steadiest play hoping that Cam can throw the football as well as Zay Jones, Chris Conley or Michael Gallup in no particular order. I do like Moore the most but the other three I would flip a coin. Watkins is done this year, Zay is the #1 WR on a poor offense but gun slinging, erratic QB, and Gallup is a stud but not sure he can get the volume you want. Good luck.

Like Zay the best outta that group for this week....and longer depending on how he does.

Tre'Quan has more upside, if that is your angle....but I like Zay's floor better, which should be in the 50-60 yard range, with 100 yard/TD upside, playing at home against the Jets who are ranked 7th worst against Wr's..

(Starting him myself this weekend in a must-win over Tre'Quan and Conley, for the reasons stated above)

appreciate the input guys, the responses were where I thought they'd be. I've had DJ Moore on my roster for a few weeks and picked up Tre'Quan Smith after Sanders went down (well, grabbed Watkins but dropped him for Smith). Pettis and Zay Jones were the guys I wanted the input on. Pettis has been hot lately but Goodwin is back so I'm not sure how that will affect him. Jones seems to be building a rapport with Allen and looks like the #1 guy on his offense, even if it's a bad offense. I'm probably going to make one more move tomorrow before the start of the games and one of those two are probably it.

I had him on my radar but he's rostered. Godwin would have been my #1 pick, but also rostered.

prolly picking him up in just about an hour so my ww release can't hit anybody else roster...

I had to choose from the same batch. I went boom/bust with Zay

Ditto going with Zay.....undisputed #1 target working out of the slot who destroyed Jets last time they played.

prolly pick him up in about an hour so my ww release can't hit anybodies roster. may wait until morning when the "Freetail Conserveza" wears off though...

I started Pettis and did good, it’s a non ppr league.

So that one td to me was a good one.

I started Zay Jones and his 5.2 points but Foster is getting more love in Buffalo. Left DJ Moore on my bench with 11.7 but not feeling good about him either. Cam's shoulder/arm issue has me worried they will shut him down. DaeSean Hamilton and Pettis may be what's up next for me.

Yeah that was posted last week about Cam.

They lost once again, I think they won prolong his season.

They will and should keep him out for the ros.

yeah, i have to look at what happened to AJ Green. They held him out trying to get him healthy, only to have him do real damage to it when he came back with NOTHING to play for anymore. he could have had extra weeks to heal, or get surgery on less extensive damage and still have more time to heal.

If I'm Carolina, I sit Cam, ease the load on McCaffrey and just play out the string.

I think we all that this dilemma to figure out. I chose Zay over both Moore and Golladay. Moore was my best option. Very surprised Zay did so well ag Jets three weeks ago and did well ag tougher Dolphins last week.....then lays an egg.

Trusting a Buffalo Bill is risky and I already inserted Allen.....so I was prett6 foolish hoping for two Bills to rise up.

It's an interesting dilemma, #1 WR on a BAD offense or shaky #2 WR on a good offense? Here is the complete list of available WR's in my league that had 10+ pts in PPR:

Dede Westbrook, Jax WR
Zach Pascal, Ind WR
DaeSean Hamilton, Den WR
Robby Anderson, NYJ WR
Robert Foster, Buf WR
Isaiah McKenzie, Buf WR
Jamison Crowder, Wsh WR
Tim Patrick, Den WR
Dante Pettis, SF WR
Cordarrelle Patterson, NE WR, RB
Trent Sherfield, Ari WR
Seth Roberts, Oak WR
Josh Doctson, Wsh WR Q
Justin Hardy, Atl WR
Curtis Samuel, Car WR
Taywan Taylor, Ten WR
Willie Snead IV, Bal WR
John Brown, Bal WR
Breshad Perriman, Cle WR

That's a pretty craptastic list. My playoffs depending on any one/two of those guys seesm pretty shaky next to my likely opponent who will roll out Odell and Tyreek. :shocking:

Craptastic is a classic.

That is a tough list.

Yeah I just saw that.

But Garcon really hasn’t been productive at all this season.

I think Dante Pettis is your best bet. Garcon is out for the year so he'll be starting from here on out.

Shhhhhh...

Sounds like you are facing Newton and McCaffrey in your fantasy playoffs this week!

No. I own McCaffrey in one league and am counting on him this week. In another, providing I advance, I would probably face him vs the best team in that league. I just saw what happened to AJ Green and saw how Andrew Luck and his shoulder injury played out for over a full season. If I were GM and couldn't make the playoffs, I'm sitting him.

I apologize to,you guys for stating Zay Jones should be strongly considered. I let you all down with that recommendation, and for that I am GUILTY AS CHARGED. If it makes you feel any better, I lost a close one no thanks to Zays 3.5. If only Odell were there instead. Sigh

Coulda...shoulda....woulda...
