Looks like I'm getting a divorce

Recommended Posts

We had the talk. Divied up the sh!t. Looks like I'll stay here till Christmas, then go find myself some cheap apartment somewhere.

Maybe I'll just move to some other city. I'm done with this town. Hell, maybe I'll pull a volty and blow this hemisphere.

Anyway. I don't feel like telling any real people yet, so I'll tell you people. I'm gonna get drunk now.

Sorry to hear your marriage did not work out. Make no mistake though, you have definitely put in a good effort to try and make this work. From what I have seen you post over the years, this sounds like one of those rare cases where a divorce is justified. GOOD LUCK bro, hope you can find some happiness.

I don't agree with Worms often... well, ever... but I do here. I believe I've said to you that I'm not a big fan of divorce and think that people in general give up too early on their marriages, but you are not such a case. Based on everything you've said here I think this is a great thing for you and I wish you the best.

Also I agree with your thought about leaving town and starting new.

I'm really sorry to hear that man. Didn't she have some pretty serious health issues? Like her heart or something?

Sucks man, but the best way to get over a woman is another woman. That's prob more applicable when ur young tho. At least Old maid is offering up a romp right?

Divorce isn't always so bad when there's no kids involved. In your case I wondered why it was taking so long.

And if you feel like you're spinning your wheels going nowhere, feel free to join me in China. It sure turned my life around and I'm not the only one to feel that way. You picked a great time with me being in Detroit right now, maybe we can go back on the same flight. :P

In your case, I'd recommend you come as a student, you could pick up Chinese as a skill that could help you get back on the legal track in some international business angle. If you want to come to Panzhihua, I should be able to help you get a scholarship, i have an American friend who's an ex-cop (older than me) doing that right now- full scholarships for him and a guy from Japan to study Chinese at Panzhihua University (the only two foreigners in the school). And then finding work teaching English on the side would get you plenty of disposable income. Me and that cop turn down work all the time.

But we're way off the beaten trail. This is my wife's hometown, and very few foreigners. Besides me and those two and three Peace Corps people, that's pretty much all the resident foreigners in the city: six plus my three kids. But despite it's size and lack of reputation, there's money in the city and you'll rub elbows with some prominent folks.

Or you could go to a part of China that you've heard of and has lots of foreigners and restaurants/stores that stock food you recognize.

I'll definately consider it. I've got a few things to tie up here for the next few months. Then I'll figure it what I want to do. I may head to the west coast.... I may head abroad. I'm in no hurry to figure it out.

We just don't make each other happy.

I was going to post - "go be happy"

this is the whole enchilada.

1. you must be happy with yourself, and after that

2. you must be happy with who you are as a couple.

If you don't have 1. you can't ever get to 2.

and 2. is trickier - you have to genuinely like who you are as a couple - you have to have goals/dreams that are aligned. You don't have to be alike, and maybe being "different" in some ways is better, i.e. your strengths/her strengths. But you have to like who you are as a couple - you have to have a shared vision about where you want to go and what you want to be in life together.

You should prolly find out if she's any good in the sack first. If so, we can all pull a train on her ass.

Dating in your 40's ...if you have no kids is like. ... Eff that.

Bitches be all cray cray, and shiznit.

No, I think I am done with the female species. I've grown accustomed to celibacy, so no biggie.
