Recommended Posts

What character from what movie do you think was the best portrayal you have seen? Such as Heath Ledger's Joker from The Dark Knight

Kevin Costner in JFK as Jim Garrison

Matthew McConaughey in A Time To Kill (closing argument is amazing)

Edward Norton in Primal Fear as Aaron/Roy

Tim Robins in Shawshank Redemption as Andy Dufresne (could not have pick a better actor to play that role)

-----

Bonus best role of 2015

Johnny Depp in Black Mass as James Bulger

I'll go with Daniel day Lewis as Lincoln, he nailed it from what I've read historically about the guy.

Good call here. Wasn't the greatest movie ever but DDL was AMAZING in that movie. Prolly the best actor of our generation

In the non-retard, non-psycho, non-superhero category, Martin Landau in "Ed Wood" gave one of the best performances I have seen. I said he was a lock for Academy Award as I walked out of the theater.

PSHoffman in "Boogie Nights" nailed it. As he typically did.

Best performer of our generation is Meryl Streep, she would have 10 Oscars if they didn't have to spread it around.

Amazingly enough, Kurt Russell nailed Elvis. No one else has come close.

TMI. What they did in their personal life is personal - not that there is anything wrong with that. Except it's wrong and ghey.

Even though he was only in the last 20 minutes or so of the movie, Spacey in Se7en absolutely nailed the John Doe psychopath.

My personal favorite; Robert Duvall as Gus McCrae in Lonesome Dove. It was my favorite book before the mini-series, and he completely nailed the character from the book. The producers actually wanted him to play Woodrow Call, largely because of his performance in The Great Santini, but he said he would only play Gus.

I'm a Westerns junkie - but for some reason have never seen L-Dove. My friends tell me it's the bomb and is the best Western ever, we will see. I finally have it taped and plan on watching it over the holiday. Looking forward to it.
