Better Den WR upside going forward?

Recommended Posts

With Welker back.. how do you see the targets playing out going forward and who would you rather have?

Sanders - higher ceiling as he can take any catch to the house with his speed.

Welker - PPR monster.. will be targeted quiet a bit during the game and in the redzone.

Redzone, Manning looks for Thomas almost every time.

Open field on a must have 1st down conversion, he looks for Welker.

I'd rather have Sanders, more upside and less injury prone.

Welker had about 75 receptions last year with Broncos so that makes him a PPR "monster"? Cmon. Sanders and it's not even close, barring injury.

I'd rather have either of them over Domyanus Thomas. Thought I had such a steal grabbing him in the 2nd round.

1) Lacy 2) Dirtyanus Thomas 3) Cordarelle Patterson 4) Toby Gerhart. Showme a worse 4 round start than that.

Hope Dirtyanus (never heard that by the way) goes off. I just traded Bradshaw, K Davis and Andre Johnson for him. I also get Prater. I figure I was selling high and buying low.

1. Peterson

2. Marshall

3. Nelson

4. Foster

5. Vereen

Outside of Nelson, well, it's not good

Marshall should be back at 100% this week. Practiced in full on a Wednesday.

Averaged about 6 catches and 65 yards a game. That's 12 ppg and had 10 TD's. So he averaged about 16 ppg, pretty decent.

PPR monster is around 120+ catches...now, that's a monster.

His last four years.....123, 123, 118, 120...would that be a PPR monster? That was before Denver...

He was only on pace for about 100 last year...then the hit at KC ended his run to 100. So, he is a ppr monster, however, you have to factor in the likelihood of another concussion and DT, Julius, Sanders....a lot more weapons than there was in NE. So, his monster days are prolly behind him.

His PPR monster days are over.

Going forward Sanders is the one to own. Sanders have caught 6,8 & 11 to start the season. He caught 76% of his passes this season. All signs point to him replicating Decker's performance from last season with potentially more receptions and rec yards.

After week 11 (KC) he had 64 catches giving him an average of under 6 per game and he would have needed 7 per game to break 100. Point being he was not a PPR monster last year with Denver, his skill set is diminishing and the injuries are a concern. Useful yes, PPR monster no.
