I think they suffered from that thing of having your whole life to write your first one or two albums, then six months to write your next one.

 

Their genuine angst and emotion had already been used up.

Yeah, the Green Album had more of a "poppy" feel. I liked Maladroit better. It wasn't bad; it showed a return to a harder edge, but even then it seemed to be just missing the "feel" of their 90s work. Since then, they've become even more formulaic and insignificant.

 

There's nothing quite like 90's Weezer, that's for sure.
