JustinCharge 2,397 Posted January 13, 2019 The website the Atlantic did a confidential poll of 85 defensive players around the NFL on various topics. While much of the poll is behind a paywall, a couple of points were revealed. 1. The QB they least want to face in a big game: Tom Brady 2. The QB they most want to face in a big game: Tom Brady 3. The top 3 underrated QBs: #3: Alex Smith #2: Phillip Rivers #1: Cam Newton (also getting votes: Wilson, Trubisky, Brees, Lamar Jackson) 4. Most overrated QBs: #2: Eli Manning #1: Kirk Cousins (also getting votes: Flacco, Ryan, Stafford, Brady, Carr, Dalton, Prescott, Winston, Bradford) https://www.barstoolsports.com/boston/survey-says-the-most-feared-qb-in-a-big-game-is-tom-brady-stillhere https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/poll-of-defensive-players-kirk-cousins-most-overrated-qb-cam-newton-most-underrated/
RoadLizard 73 Posted January 13, 2019 Interesting that some QBs made both lists or whatever. For me its more about the teams these QBs were on that made them scary or not. I think a lot of QB ranking has to take era and teams they played into context. Thats why for me its too hard to call any QB or RB, WR, etc the "best ever" overall. I basically have to break it up by decade and then factor in the players surrounding cast. Its not that cut and dry to me.
