Nicks or Jennings

Hakeem Nicks could be the potential top player at his position. Jennings disappeared too many times last season, fantasy wise, for my liking. There are also a lot of good options in that Green Bay aerial attack. Take Nicks.

Nicks is so much safer than Jennings its scary. I had Jennings the year he disappeared. Nicks could finish the year the #1 scoring WR. Ely only looks for him in the Red zone.

Jennings has also had 37 td's the last 4 seasons, he is a td machine.

 

 

 

Saying all that, I selected nicks over jennings in the one draft I have done so far. But the gap is not as wide as some people are making it out to be.

I have to throw in that we have seen Jennings ceiling, and I think Nicks is still on his way up. Jennings has guys all around him that do compliment him but at the same time, there's so many of them that they steal from him. Had Finley not gotten hurt, jennings wouldn't have sniffed his TD total from last year. Manningham compliments Nicks real well, and so does Boss, but they are subserviant in nature and don't pilfer from him. I have Nicks in the top 4 or top tier, and Jennings a very safe and steady second tier Wr.

I like Nicks here. I had Jennings last year and he was stellar for me, but with the return of J. Finley I cant help but think the young Nicks will have the better fantasy season.

Nicks has a higher ceiling. Jennings may be more of a sure thing, but he is hit and miss within the season. He might have a big game one week and then go quiet for the next two weeks. Nicks has a chance to be much more consistent while scoring more overall fantasy points, IMO.

Nicks was out for 3 games last year and didn't start against the Colts. That said he still had 4 more targets than Jennings. The Giants have less options than the Packers and Eli has shown the willingness to go to his playmaker for years (Plaxico, Nicks) no matter the coverage while Rodgers is more willing to take what the D gives him.

 

I'd go with Nicks for more potential. Jennings may be safer because of Nicks' injury history but he's more of an unstoppable beast than Jennings.

I'm gonna go against the grain, but I feel like Jennings has the higher ceiling here. The reason is simple. Look at the offense that Jennings is in compared to Nicks. Nicks is a more controlled balanced attack, while the Packers chuck it everywhere. Both have similar support, so we can rule that out.

 

If I said Rodgers was gonna throw 40+ TD's and 4800 yds, nobody would be too surprized cause of the Packers offense. If Eli did it, it would shock everyone cause their offense isn't designed to do so.

 

So, I think Jennings is safer and has the higher ceiling. Now put Nicks in the Packers offense and I'd take him over Jennings. Alot of times we have to look at the situation players are in when deciding who to take. Both are great, but Jennings is in an offense that is just too explosive!!

Nicks will compete with Boss/Smith/Manningham/Burress (okay, not Burress)

 

The bottom line is both Nicks and Jennings are the staples through the air, so it doesn't matter who else is there, they'll still get "their's"

Jennings is the better overall player, but Aaron Rodgers will have a lot of guys to spread the ball around too. Last season Nicks established himself as the guy in New York. He's the safer pick.

Finley is back but J.Jones is likely gone and Driver is another year older. It just as likely that Finley takes that production than eats into Jennings.

I'll just say this... most of the guys who frequent this board are usually knowledgeable enough to make the playoffs... It's week 14 - week 16 that determine who wins the big money.

 

Now, things being equal... if Team A and Team B have the same players but the only difference is that Team A has Nicks and Team B has Jennings, I'm assuming there's not much difference in the final records of each team. That being said, both teams will probably make the playoffs... Jennings will face Oakland (sans Nnamdi Asomugha), KC, and Chicago... where Nicks faces @Dallas, Washington, and at NYJ...

 

I'm just saying that WHEN both teams make the playoffs, Team B (with Jennings) probably would have a better chance at winning the championship game.

 

There's nothing as painful as losing the championship game...

Thought I had a decent analysis on this one until I looked at the numbers. I thought for sure Finley had to be hurting Jennings TD numbers but in the 4 games they played together last year Jennings had 3 of his 12 TDs. Jennings yardage total was down in the those 4 games though (82,36,18,25). Not a very large sample but Finley only had 1 TD in those 4 games but his yardage was better (47,103,115,36). I'm not sure what to make of it but it was a bit backwards from what I was thinking.

Besides the return of Finley does anyone know if GB wants to/can run the ball more this year? They seemed to lean entirely on the pass last year which might have helped inflate Jennings numbers a bit.
