Nope, I'm not angry at all.

If you say the reason you are paying money to go to games is to see people do exactly as you expect during warmups and a song before the game starts, so be it. And with this being The Culture War, you aren't even that rare anymore.

I only said I don't want to see protests where I seek entertainment. I have always wanted my entertainment independant from politics and social issues unless it's the resistance vs. the empire.

In a way cbfalcon is right. lets put a face with the people who dont stand for the flag. We can then judge them, much like we can cbfalcon. i can sit back and exploit them, meanwhile not put any money in there pocket with mechandise, ticket sales, or concessions. But good luck trying to get a job once the mask is taken off of you.

In sports, during a player injury, mostly all players will take a knee.  Kaepernick wasn't taking a knee to be disrespectful to flag or anthem, he just wanted to call needed attention to the fact that innocent African-American (mostly men) lives had (and continue be) taken by the people sworn to protect and serve ALL; not those who happen to look like them. Do people continue to miss the point (injustice) because of racism?  "I'm with you. I hate that these guys are able to bring this into the entertainment industry."  ...let's face it, Trump has made overt racism chic again

I am a 20-year USAF Cold War veteran, not all service members are offended, we served to protect our freedoms, which can be used illustrate the injustices in our once envious democratic society

You want to post about what really offends service members, Trump demanding & getting a military parade after twice avoiding his opportunity to serve

Yeah, blame it on Trump that black on black homicide has been so high over the past 9 years. Ad concerning racial perception, that is such an ill informed point of view you have on this topic.  The whole Obama administration fostered the racial divide that we have been seeing over the last many years with all the identity politics for his own party's political image.

And as far as the whole kneeling thing, I don't want it in my entertainment. There is enough time the rest of the day to approach politics and family and personal growth, etc other than have to deal with it in those couple hours of relaxation for a game, a movie, or what have you.

Also, look at the numbers the FBI put out about the black homicides in 2016. Take a look at how many blacks were killed by blacks, and how many polices homicides of blacks there were, and how many of those were actually against armed and dangerous criminals.

Police were 18.5% more likely to be killed by a black person than for an unarmed black person to be killed by a cop.

How many black on black homicides took place in Chicago while Obama was in office? And now, look how many cops are ignoring stopping could be criminals because of the fear they carry with going into possible dangerous situations with black males and the life or death situations they are putting themselves in in some of those neighborhoods. This is a true thing.

In the end, I think the football players are protesting the wrong group of people.

Either way, the only part I mention above that is only opinion, is my desire to not bring social/political statements into my entertainment. I can 't control it, but I can choose not to watch or listen to it.

You believe kneeling during the anthem is disrespectful to our military yet you call a former member during the cold war out? That's ironic. You seem far too dismissive of any opinion that doesn't align with yours.

No just a lot of military around me. 2 sons , Marines and Army. 2 brother-in-laws 1 sister-in-law Air-Force, Dad served in Korean war. And some others not so close. First time I heard Cold War veteran. I cant give details but 1 in the Air-force asked my son, why the Marines, we send you in when its dangerous. There hard to be around, I get sick of hearing how they sit in air condition and tell people what to do or the 5 star hotels they stay in. But yea cold war veteran just seems like drama.

Not exactly sure what point you're trying to make but it seems hypocritical to me. You're trying to defend the flag and those who have served, yet you think one persons service doesn't count because he disagrees with you? Based on you're response I can only assume that you have not served, yet you believe you can make the judgement as to which persons service counts and which service does not. The branches can have their rivalries and feuds, but as civilians we haven't earned the right to say one persons service doesn't count because it wasn't grueling or dangerous enough.

How is it that you're the one upset by the protesting, but I'm the one defending a military vet? I believe that your view point has lead you so far to one side that it's clouded your ability to think logically and allow room for a differentiating opinion.

My dad was in WW2 and he doesn't like those protests either. He thinks they are wrong place, wrong time, and wrong target group. Also, my cousin is a cop who worked in Chicago and now L.A. He knows the reality of the streets better than any army veteran, and now because of the Obama racial divide, he has a bigger target on his back because of his job description. And I'm sure you all think he's a killer because he doesn't agree with you.

The NFL itself doesn't like it either. But now you all think you should have a say in private corporation policy.

I couldn't agree more that it's the wrong time, place, message etc. There has to be a better way to get your message across. But there is a culture and race problem in this country and pointing the finger doesn't help.

Cold War Vet. Anyone in the armed forces between late 1945 and 1991. No matter what role they had.

The whole point is that people in the military all have different opinions as well.

Cold War - the time in world history where the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic (U.S.S.R.) were at the brink of bringing nuclear war on the world.

I did receive many medals during my tour, one in particular, is the Berlin Army of Occupation medal. I received it during my first tour in 1982 as a Russian linguist. Our mission - prevent world domination by the Russians (has always been their mission & will continue to be) ...so, yeah, besides starting this racially diving debate on patriotism, I might be biased against Trump who gave the Russians an "escorted" tour into the White House.

Also, if you have never dealt with the VA for medical service, please don't tell me how Trump is "trying to clean it up" ...the bureaucratic non-sense has gotten progressively worse and extremely impersonal since his administration  ...as stated above, upcoming military parade = wasted tax payer's $$$

Nope no recognition of medals for cold war sorry. Also yea I had coffee with my wifes grampa who served in ww2, he used to tell me about appointments he would go to the VA for. Like 20 years ago when he said u waited forever and sometimes came back home because you couldn't get in. Hopefully your 5th comment here has a ring of truth because your an idiot.

If you are trying to say that only current or ex service members deserve an opinion on what happens in this country, then ban the NFL players for speaking out. Or how about you just stop being a clown as you say.

BTW, my dad was in WW2 and he hates this protest crap because NFL players should get themselves and peers in order before they speak about anything else as a group.

First off, I want to say thank you for your service.  Not every republican, Trump supporter, conservative or libertarian thinks like redsrback.  I think that anyone who joins the service at any point in the history of this country deserves honor and respect.

Now as to the political, I honestly think Kaepernick was pissed cause he was benched and came up with this whole scheme in order to get a look at me.  He doesn't know crap about being raised in the hood, or growing up with a single mother.  As far as innocent men being shot, that is a complete red herring.  The numbers have been stated time and again, there isn't a police force out there looking to kill anyone, things escalate, and you better damn well believe if its the cop or the perp who is shot, 100 out of 100 I hope its the perp.  You are more likely when you compare violent crimes to be shot as a white guy then a black guy.  There is no injustice, the fact that blacks are profiled more is because 4% of the population age 14-35 commits 48% of all the violent crimes and 52% of all the homicides.  So considering those numbers I am actually surprised more black men get shot.  But the reality is that the numbers show the opposite.

Kaepernick latched on to BLM, which was initiated after Treyvon Martin was shot by a civilian (but somehow they always group that into things) and more significantly the false narrative of Michael Brown and "Hands up don't Shoot."  When you're entire existence as an organization is based on a lie, well then nothing you stand for is the truth

As far as Trump, hate him all you want, he is actually trying to do more for this country, than any president in my lifetime, and for what its worth, I reluctantly selected Trump after supporting Cruz, in the General, and while I will say, most of the things he says, I shake my head at, but every policy he has enacted I stand with 100%, and I will easily vote him again over some jackass progressive doush or socialist like the Democratic party is moving more and more towards

Who here actually think the police are not out of control?

Why do our police cars have to try and hide to enforce our laws? In Europe and other places the police cars are real bring neon colors.

Why do they escalate the encounter above what its needs to be? If you look you will see police slamming drunk women to the ground super violently while in handcuffs. Harassing mentally handicapped people.all the while screaming stop resisting at the top of their lungs so they are "justified" in beating people.

Why is the statistic that police beat the wives or girlfriends at twice the national avg?

One last thing, if there was only a few bad apples in the police force why don't the good cops report them and STOP them?

I have never had a problem with the police. Why are you having so many problems with them?

You do realize there are a lot of people out there doing really bad things don't you? And the cops put themselves in front of it before you ever would.

You sound so naive as to what goes on in many areas of this country. It's mind-boggling how out of touch you are.

As far as the NFL, why don't the good NFL guys go after, report, and STOP the bad NFL guys?

Maybe you can stop them?

Back to reality, why don't you read this article and see a tiny bit of what goes on in our cities:

https://www.google.c...-out-alive/amp/

And by the way MS-13 groups have publically stated that they are now targeting police based upon their desire to kill police. You may want to join them based upon your opinions. Because you sure are fueling the fire.

Yeah, the tax payers should be funding fruitless ongoing investigations into Russian hacking charges against Trump for years on end with zero results and baseless accusations. So smart given your support.

What Nixon did in Watergate was minor compared to Obama's and Clinton's actions throughout the whole pre and post presidential election process in which by the way, the truly smart people won this term, even though the dems gave a crap load of uranium to the Russians in hopes of their support. Thank goodness Trump won despite that conspiracy.

And not every veteran is intelligent and/ or a good guy by the way. Want to argue that too?

Just keep this discussion out of the NFL entertainment industry and people can then continue to keep enjoying the football entertainment company.

If you are trying to say that only current or ex service members deserve an opinion on what happens in this country, then ban the NFL players for speaking out. Or how about you just stop being a clown as you say.

BTW, my dad was in WW2 and he hates this protest crap because NFL players should get themselves and peers in order before they speak about anything else as a group.

the post you quoted was about veterans and military decorations, not football players protesting.

anyone who denigrates a serviceperson's decorations, while not serving himself, is a shitbag.

I didn't post anything about military decorations. People who accuse others of things that they didn't do are shitbags. Hence, the dems...

Where did you get that stat about police beating wives and girlfriends at twice the national average? Or did you just make it up? Link please.

Much like you, that "article" shows no link to any study. It doesn't even say the name of one. Pro tip: it's made up BS. You shouid stop repeating it. Everything on the internet isn't true. Plus it's from 2012.

I've never had a problem with police, but I'm a white middle class man. But I'm smart enough to see the bullshot that other people have to go thur with them.

Do you want me to link you videos of cops going above what they need to do?

You never answered why they need to hide their vehicles from ordinary everyday people. One local police station near me is all black unless the light hits it just right then you can make out a ghost image of the word police I think I can link it for you too it. They are a public servant but are controlled by private for profit people. Look up who owns your local jail/prison.
But you are the problem here bringing the conversation back to the NFL instead of the militarization of our police and the poor training they get.

Here's another that states that 2 studies indicate 40% of police families of domestic violence where the national avg is 10%.
Then think of how hopeless you would feel having to go to their job and report them for this. I'm pretty sure you've heard the line but he's a good cop just under a lot of stress right now.
I would love for the good cops to remove the bad cops but they are "blue" brothers.
