The Giants line sucks, but I suspect Eli Manning is now the worst starting QB in football even if he had a solid line. Instead of feeling the rush while keeping his eyes downfield, he curls up or dumps off to the running back the instant someone gets penetration. Reminds me of David Carr after a few years of getting hit. He is done.

Only thing I can possibly think of.... head coach must have already decided that if Giants did get the ball back and scored another TD, he'd go for 2 and the win. So, might as well go for 2 the first time. If it doesn't work (which it didn't), they'll get another 2-point try after the next TD.?.

The new math says its the proper play. You should convert 1 of 2 attempts at the 2 point conversion. If you happen to convert on the first attempt, you are now down 6. This puts you in position to win with another TD, and a FG to get within 3 is an option depending on time.

 

There was a good write up a couple weeks ago when the Eagles did it. It was all about win odds, etc.

Shurmur is an awful HC. In the first half they should have kicked the FG when they were within the 10 yard line. They have one of the worst offensive lines in the league, and yet they go for it - while down, and on the road.

That was, and I say this without hesitation, the WORST end of game play calling I've ever seen. That includes anything ever authored by Andy Reid, Mike Tomlin and even Jason Garrett. Has NO ONE on the Giants see Saquon jump? If you are going to run the ball on the goal line give it to the 230 lb bowling ball with the 45 inch vert from the springs in his legs. that was unbelievably bad in every regard.
