  1. As you can see on my sig below, I am pretty weak at WR but have a decent stable of RB's. Bush worries me with injury potential. Someone made this offer to me today and I feel pretty good about it, but have always been of the mindset you can't have enough starting RB's. i just dont think i can get enough scoring out of my wideouts. Any thoughts?

rbs mckinght (jets) or harrison (eags)

mcknight - featured back against a bad run D.

    Jerome Harrison

I've been getting some mixed info on McCoy in Philly, on whether he is going to play at all week 17. im considering grabbing harrison as a potential play, especially with hillis looking more and more iffy sunday. any philly homers have any good info on how good a play harrison could be this week? im also kicking around some other RB ideas such as joe mcknight in new york after hearing rex ryan talk up his playing time earlier this week.

    Giants Stranded in KC!

relax, there will be no forfeits. they will play the game when both teams are present and ready to play. they wont punish the giants players and coaches based on a snowstorm and bad travel plans, and reward minnesota with a win simply because they live locally.

Non playoff teams putting in waiver claims

this is silly in my opinion. if i am mathematically eliminated but still have games to play, i do what i can to win those games, including improving my team through waiver wires. if i was a commissioner, i wouldnt make rules like this that promote people giving up on the league and packing it in. id want all teams to be working towards being competitive.

What do you need on MNF?

i was up by 3, going against keller tonight, thinking i was dead meat. especially after the pats jumped all over the jets early, i figured sanchez would find him a few times. he gets 2 points and i win my 8th in a row and remain top seed. do you believe in miracles? yes!

    Arian Foster ranked 30th?

as long as the whole league is using the same rules, really, what difference does it make when the draft is? if anything, an early draft favors owners who are on-the-ball and do a lot of homework. later drafts give you a better idea of who is doing what and make drafting easier, but like i mentioned in my earlier post, a lot of the fun for me is using the waiver wire to improve a team. drafting early gives you that. while my league is somewhat competitive, we really are in it for bragging rights. if i were in a big-money league, id RATHER have an early draft, so that i can hopefully get an advantage. regardless, the early draft helped me in the case of foster, and burned me in the case of shonn green. every other team has similar good luck/bad luck tales. for the record, i agree with your preference of draft time.

    Arian Foster ranked 30th?

my 14-team league had our draft very early, right at the beginning of august, before tate got hurt and the foster train started running wild. i was able to get foster in the 14th round! he wasnt a guy that was on my radar, but he was available and i grabbed him. i picked up peyton hillis after week one. i drafted d-willy, shonn green, and chris wells in the first 5 rounds to carry the load running the ball. so much for that. i traded deangelo, and greene and wells have been buried on the bench. my team is 9-3, riding hillis and foster all the way, and now enjoying mike goodsen in the flex. the moral of this story isnt "look at me, look how great i am", it is that super-early drafts suck and it pays off to hit forums like this and be observant on the waiver wire. it is amazing how much you can help your team knowing that guys like goodson and hillis may get some extra carries and grabbing them early, BEFORE they go off. drafts are fun, but fantasy football to me is all about scouring the waiver wire every week, looking for potential. thats how you build a team, not simply by drafting.

    Kevin Kolb

well, this is one of those moves where you say "WTF? there MUST be some reason!" but there just doesnt appear to be. i grabbed him. there was another puzzling event leading up to it - another team dumped roethlisberger, and last night this team dumped kolb to get roethlisberger! im tickled that he became available, its like a week 1 christmas present in my opinion. im just glad i got up early and viewed the league page. no, the league isnt a super-competitive money league, but it isnt generally football retarded either, so this is surprising.

    Kevin Kolb

Good morning, i noticed in my 14-teamer this morning that someone has released kevin kolb in explicably. currently i have eli and jason campbell as my QB's, and i am certainly considering grabbing Kolb. is there something i dont know about with this guy, such as injury? i have been investigating all morning, and short of some talk about Vick getting some short yardage calls, i dont see anything that would prompt him to be outright cut from a roster. i certainly think he is an upgrade over Campbell (who i was glad to get late in the draft, but would be more than willing to dump for an upgrade). any thoughts on this? thanks!

    Cuse9's Annual Help Thread

thanks for your time and such a solid reply. as predicted, i did get rid of johnson and was able to land Mike Thomas off the FA list. still fishing for a good deal for a WR upgrade, but i think i am in pretty good shape. thanks again, great thread.

    Cuse9's Annual Help Thread

Cuse9, i always enjoy reading your threads and your take on different situations - anyway, i am in a non-ppr 14 team keeper league (2 keepers per team). my RB situation was terrible last year, so i rolled the dice, and kept nobody in an effort to target the remaining quality RBs that werent kept. my RBs i drafted were: DeAngelo Williams Shonn Greene Beanie Wells Arian Foster Justin Forsett Larry Johnson i feel pretty solid with that group in a 14-teamer (4 of them i feel are going to get significant carries), but i fear i did it at the expense of my WR corps: Michael Crabtree Jeremy Maclin Lee Evans Johnny Knox I have noticed that Mike Thomas of Jax is still available after the draft, and have been toying with simply dropping Larry Johnson and grabbing him and calling it a day, but i have been also using some RB depth in an effort to trade for a higher rated WR like Calvin Johnson or someone of that level. First of all, what do you think of my WR as they are - i clearly need to add someone, but do i need to use my RB depth to trade up for a clear upgrade at the position, or is a FA move for Thomas as i mentioned a more loogical move, retaining my RB as is? do you think a guy like Crabtree or Maclin is going to put up serious numbers enough to carry the load? thanks!

    KEEPER LEAGUE DRAFT RESULTS

thanks for the response - im not one to trade away depth too often, especially this early in training camp, but ive considered trading some depth at running back for a shot at a higher-rated WR - i have a team i have targeted who is very very weak in RB, but has several fine WR including Calvin Johnson, who is a WR i believe in this year. do you think my rotation of WR is good enough where i should protect my RB depth, or would packaging a RB and a receiver like maclin too high a price to pay for Johnson or any other WR of that caliber? thanks again.

    KEEPER LEAGUE DRAFT RESULTS

Greetings, i am in a 14 team keeper league (non PPR scoring), in which you can keep up to 2 players. last season it was a 10-team league, so we have 4 expansion teams. i had a terrible season last year, my running backs sucked, and i decided to NOT keep anyone (i had considered keeping Schaub), in hopes of taking advantage of the available pool of running backs that would be available along with the 4 new teams. the following players were protected in my league: PETERSON RICE C JOHNSON TURNER P. MANNING T. BRADY T. ROMO D. BREES S. JACKSON MJ DREW A JOHNSON FITZGERALD RIVERS RODGERS R MOSS here is how i ended up: QB - Eli Manning, Jason Campbell RB - DeAngelo Williams, Shonn Green, Beanie Wells, Justin Forsett, Arian Foster WR - Mike Crabtree, Jeremy Maclin, Johnny Knox, Lee Evans TE - Heath Miller, Kevin Boss K - Robbie Gould D - Cleveland Browns I feel that i accomplished a solid group of RB's, particularly with the cream of the crop already gone, but at pretty high cost in lack of depth at WR. i never targeted a QB higher than the 4th or 5th round, so Eli was about where i thought id be. Am i doomed, or does this look like a decent lineup?
