    Ray Rice YOU SUCK!

Stop, not a single stud player has ever had 16 straight beastly games in a row. Except Jimmy Graham who will score at least 20 a week until he retires.

Chad Johnson legally changes his name

I like this guy, but Chad Ocho Cinco, wow. So COC?? ...or CHOC(H)?? That just doesn't seem promising.

    Trade value for Chatman

    Done.

    Trade value for Chatman

as is typically the case in these situations, no one will want to immediately reward you with one of their quality players for an underwhelming name who you most likely lucked into because you were quickest to the wire or you had top priority. clearly chatman has a great opportunity here, and everyone knows that, but your not gonna see another owner admit that, swallow his pride, and give up a roy williams because of your good fortune.. (except in the case above, evidently) better to hold onto him for a few weeks, let him put up some numbers, catch all those passes, and let the media start buzzing about him to get believers out of the rest of your league.. a quick example: i dangled chatman at the ronnie brown owner just to see what hed say... his bitter predictable response: "chatman sucks, i wouldnt give up anything for him, bennett will take over in tampa and ill be fine.."

Bear Fans do you hear that Window Closing?

agreed. the window of opportunity is so unbelievably small and we were too stubborn or pompous or proud to get the right piece in place. the issue has certainly been beaten to a pulp, but the "orton took us to the playoffs" and "rex took us to the superbowl" are ridiculously off base. Theyre simply the reason we won games by 3 and not 30.

    FWP update

You gotta think this is some reporter trying to stir the pot a bit with a pessimistic question.. And Willie couldve responded with, nah i dont surgery, or why would i need surgery for inflammation," which couldve been written, "Parker doesnt think he needs surgery in offseason." I wouldnt read too much into that.. but i could be wrong. but i never am.

    Stud QB Theory

No way, see dante bichette, helton etc... much better at coors... Cutler too will benefit from the mile high air. I'm thinking steal.
  8. Parkers says he wants to be better than LT. (article is running aroudn this board somewhere) Tomlin says he can be if he gets as many touches. Says hes not pulling him from the game until his tongue is hanging out, something to that effect. The knee thing is worth keeping an eye on but it appears Willie will be given every opportunity to score..again.

    Auction

Curious as to how you run your auction. Last year we had a $200 budget, where you could theoretically spend $200 on 1 player and then fill the rest of your team with waiver pickups after. In years past we've said that you had to budget properly so you were forced to have at least $1 dollar available for all 16 picks, otherwise you'd lose a roster spot. Whats your preference here? or is there a better option?

    Stud QB Theory

So i just finished a 10 team keeper draft, standard scoring. ppr. QB RB RB WR WR WR TE K DEF I decided to take on a new strategy this year and shy away from the RB heavy technique. And it worked. First rd i Grabbed Manning with the 2nd pick overall. I couldnt justify not taking him here as he scores as many points or more than LT. Steal in my opinion....While everyone else grabbed lesser RBs like steven jacksons and LJs, i had the best player at his position. when it came back to me in rd 2, everyone was still plucking RBs like candy, so i thought, well why not grab the next best qb and "cancel" him from the league. this way i wont have to play against him... So I gladly welcomed Carson to the squad. Mind you this is only a 1 qb league, but the chance to remove top qbs from other rosters is a smooth tactic that most dont think of. On the way back i grabbed Brees as insurance for palmer because of his injury prone knee... and with grabbing brees i knew i had to back him as well, being only one year removed from a surgically repaired shoulder. By this time owners were getting upset that i was "hoarding all the good qbs, for no reason" to which i snickered, "oh theres a reason." It never dawned on them that i could single handedly erase their plans landing a top qb. My strategy was working perfectly. Someone decided to get smart and grabbed Brady, So i had to keep picking these guys off quickly. I grabbed Bulger next, (quality Brees insurance) followed by Mcnabb in the 5th (love his upside, something to prove).. Being so QB heavy i knew i had the depth now to ship out my stars for younger up and coming qbs that would develop and come with much cheaper price tags, a smart move for staying under the cap in the year to come. I stayed true to my plan here as i had the whole league thinking about my draft rather than theirs, mentally taking them out of their games..The rest of my draft went as follows: 6. Kitna (wears cross hats and has solid wrs in RW, CJ, Furrey, herman moore) 7. Young (rewarded with Madden cover, must be good) 8. Green (playing for a "green" team is not only coincidence, but it should boost numbers) 9. Cutler (cool hair) 10. Orton (Rex will falter, has neck beard) 11. Roethlisberger (should produce unless soprano figures out who hes dating) 12. Harrington (Excellent, could get starting nod if media ever gets ahold of vicks off the field ventures. also plays piano, i play piano) 13. Carr (developed nice rapport with AJ last year, should continue. Also, Reggie should really take over this year easing the pressure) 14. Losman (Tulane qbs are typically nfl gold <king, ramsey>) 15. Russell ( very very very surprised a number 1 pick fell this far, dumb league members=my gain) 16. Culpepper (most dont know that he signed with OAK, i do, and he should pave the way nicely for my 15th rd steal) So theres my draft. Laugh if you will RB theorists, but i am absolutely stacked at QB. now there are only about 15 other qbs worth owning for the rest of my league, which means i should dominate from the qb position. I also have the versatility to play matchups and i have above average bye week protection. When the season starts i can fill spots with sleeper WRs like Booker (great season in Chicago 4 years ago) and RBs like Ced Houston, who no one is talking about because no one can find him, and TD vultures like alstott. Chalk me up for a stolen TD per week with him.. am i right!? Plus he once chased down a rabbit.

FWP: " I want to be better than LT"

Of course FWP cant be as good as LT. LT isnt human.. LT makes the unrealistic juke side hop whatever move like in madden 03 when you push L or R and you automatically slip by the tackle untouched, realistic. But were talkin opportunity. If Willie is playin 10-15 more downs a game. thats a few more carries, another catch or two per...thats all need tacked on to last years 2-down back production to move him into the top tier.

FWP: " I want to be better than LT"

So i wanted to comment on this Willie chatter too, but then i just read this post, and then kept reading..and then realized it makes every point i wanted to, and i disagree with none of it. well said.

    Overvaluing RB's

Exactly. This is why I prefer 2 qb leagues. Places more value on qbs in the draft and alleviates the monotony of 14 rbs rattled off in a row. Also, If only 10-12 qbs are starting each week, after the mannings/palmers, the difference between say qb5 and qb12 isnt all that great. Where's the strategy in wasting early picks on qbs if your all but guarenteed one of the top 10. Somethings wrong when a borderline wr2 is given as much importance as game changing player like Mcnabb. I know id rather watch Vince Young as my qb2 than wes welker or mark bradley as my WR3 on a weekly basis. As someone mentioned above, RBs and WRs are where you win your league. Of course they are. When everyone starts a top 10 qb they become arbitrary.
