Torn 42 Posted March 3, 2017 For new managers: Our league uses a different method for defining draft position. The winner of our consolation bracket gets their choice of draft position for the next season. It's an incentive to continue being active even when eliminated from the championship bracket. So, draft choice order is defined by consolation bracket performance. Then, the championship bracket teams fall into draft slots 7-12. So, draft order looks like this based on final standings: 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ... The next twist is that this order is NOT necessarily the final draft order. The number 7 finisher (this year, strombn) gets to CHOOSE where he wants to draft. He can pick first if he chooses, but could pick ANY draft position. If he wants to pick 3rd, he can. 12th? Sure... Then the #8 finisher gets to pick his slot, etc. Hope that made sense.
WhiteWonder 2,171 Posted March 3, 2017 Makes sense. My only question would be how will it be determined when the new owners get to choose their draft spot as the abandoned owners are all over the map. Perhaps draft preference slot could be a draftable asset as part of the keeper draft for new owners?
posty 2,296 Posted March 3, 2017 What was done in the past was that the draft order pick went in the reverse order of the keeper draft... So whomever picked last in the keeper draft got the first open slot of new owners...
Torn 42 Posted March 3, 2017 What he said Oh, and I'll have the new owners do an electronic dice roll to determine who picks first in the keeper draft.
