Get to Know Your Fellow Geeks

Recommended Posts

I'm stationed in Biloxi and finally allowed to go off base on the weekend. Me and a couple of black guys I went to school with decide to drive to a mall. We were sitting in the front of a pickup oreo style. We get pulled over by Biloxi's finest. Cop walks up to the driver's door, looks past the driver to me and says "You alright son?".

I gotta admit, that's hilarious.

Training at UM. The hospital is great, but the town/surroundings were pretty meh IMO.

I have a friend going to Detroit for cardiology and I'm having a hard time finding anything redeeming about the area. So far I've suggested checking out the UP, Mackinac, Cherry Festival in Traverse City…everything else requires leaving the state. And try a bunch of Middle Eastern food. Any other suggestions?

Agree with you on Ann Arbor, its a craphole college town and a shiotty one at that.

All of those things you mentioned are 3+ hour drives from AA. Greenfield Village and Henry Ford museum both in Dearborn have a bunch of really cool historic stuff. Eastern Market in Downtown Detroit is a cool thing on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Detroit Institute of Arts is not a world class art museum but it is really nice regardless.

I lived in Ft. Worth my first 2.5 years out of college. Taught tennis as Miras Vista Country Club off of Bryant Irving. I bought my first house in Ft. Worth. It was a nice experience - loved down town. But you can keep that summer 104 degrees heat. Fock that.

We (the grease monkey shop where I work) actually have very many employees at Folsom Prison for our customers.

It got hotter, too. Your 104 is 105 these days. I was driving my car with a digital thermometer on the control panel. It read 113. I went past a business sign that said it was 113 as well. :shocking:
