Wasn't there once a mythical time when football was the "the beautiful game"? A simpler time when managers weren't loud, arrogant perma-tanned ego-maniacs and players played for the love of the game. No shaved chest hair? no pre-game uniform of flip-flops and free sportswear? no sponsorship deals? no interviews with players saying "Yer, Know" several hundred times?
What I'm saying is when did football become so unbearably crap? One team leagues, sleazy foreign investors, one-up-front negative tactics, diamond ear-stud bling. Bring back Roy of the Rovers.
