Alright gang, we're underway. One game per opponent (nine) will start immediately. The other game will start when the first one is done.

I think I have 9 or 10 games going now! I hope to win 2 of them. I've been getting my ass kicked by players online.

Yeah, you will quickly find there is a big difference between knowing how to play chess, and "playing chess." Many of the people on that site do tactical exercises everyday, memorize openings, and practice endgames and whatnot.

The first time I went to chess club here in town, I thought I was pretty good. I had been playing since I was a kid, and rarely lost to my friends. I got spanked for months before I ever won a game there.

Its one of those games that is 15 minutes to learn, a lifetime to master.

I just logged in. I don't see me on the list of ten for the tournament. You fill the spot? If so, that's fine. This is going to be a crazy week for me. .

I invited you, did you no join? I assumed you were in. I've only been posting this stuff for four days now...

Sorry, I can't fix it at this point. Maybe if we do a team match vs. FBG you can play.

Or challenge me, I'll whip your ass a few times. :P

No problem. My bad. I forgot about it last night night. The wifey cvms first.

I was ready to put the helmet on and take a beaten anyway.

This.

In H.S. I'd only lose to the exchange student from Europe.

Then at a club it took me like 6-7 games to win...

..and it was 12 year old from our 'ghetto'...

Also, I need to go to bed so my games will be left hanging for a while.

Super. Atlas was her last work of fiction and represents her philosophy, so you shouldn't start with that one. Fountainhead is more of a primer for Atlas, if you read Fountainhead second then you're more likely to get bored with it. I did read Fountainhead first and that worked out great for me. And I reread both every couple years or so. Enjoy.

I'm surprised you like chess RP. It's such a liberal game.

The object is to kill the elite (king). The queen, a woman, is the most powerful piece on the board. Pawn can be promoted to royalty.

You probably play a lot of gambits, sacrificing the pawns for the good of the royalty. And rely heavily on the bishops for morality police.

I'm losing to Edjr.

My current rating (1600) is inflated due to playing a lot of low rated opponents. I consider myself about a 1450 player, which is slightly above average but prone to boneheaded mistakes.

I'm not playin 10 games at once and certainly not while at work

I just resigned some matches.

Was winning every match or even last night, losing everyone today.

Then when I am winning, people don't play

Is that what the rolleyes is for...???
Jeez I was just gonna swap a Knight for a Rook man.

Wow dude, wow.
We're playing each other twice, this is gonna really be a grind man, don't give up.

Com'on man just take your time, I saw the way you pinned that other guys' Queen. It was beautiful.

Take your time, take a few hours to make moves. I know it's fun when we go back and forth every 20 minutes or so but just be patient and think things over.
I rushed my last move last nite in a 'friendly' vs. jocstrap and this morning I got an email saying our match was over. I was like WTF...?

Drag the king over either 2 or 3 towards the rook.

you cannot castle if in check or through check.

I think you can only make it work to the nearest rook. Also, neither the king or the rook has moved yet.

Move the king over to the spot open right beside the rook. The move will happen automatically
