AWESOME!!!My son is in France right now, for 12 days with the school/exchange program and he is having a blast. In the meantime, the email came today letting him know that he was accepted into NYU, Tisch School for the Arts and Dramatic Writing. Just as I am about to go to bed, I get another email that they are giving us $36K in scholarships, which is basically almost the full tuition. I will still need $20-$25K for room and board but I can do that. Holy crap, my boy is going to NYU.

Nice, what is he going to major in?
He's not positive yet but it will be some type of dramatic writing/liberal arts type thing. He's written a one act play that the High School performed. The kid is wicked smart and can write like a pro.

I thought this was going to be about him following in your footsteps and banging his first 400 pounder.

I find it disappointing that so many people feel they are obligated to try to help pay for their kids post high school costs. Under no circumstances should that happen. The kid sinks or swims, without any cash from you. That is the only way he will ever get the best out of life. If they can't afford college, too focking bad.

Now try and convice him to get a degree in something that he can make a living at instead of turning into a bleeding heart libtard.

You are GF's dad?
Seriously, congrats.
I was going to say, "Didn't GFIAFP go there?" He was probably one of their finest accomplishments.

Stalking a chick who went there doesn't mean he went there no matter how many times he was escorted off the property.

He didn't go there. But that's where they set up a triage center for all the people GFIAFP rescued from the WTC on 911.

He is in France on a trip for school and will be home next week, so I'm not sure I get the gay referrences. If wanting to go to France after taking 5 years of french in school is gay, then consider me a sausage smuggler also. (suck one d!ck and all of a sudden, I'm considered gay...) Whoever asked the question about reading his email, my son gave me permission because he is out of the country. Also, Phillybear....do you know alot of 17 year old kids that have an extra $200K lying around and don't get $$ from their parents? I can only hope that he grows up to be a huge contributer to society like yourself.

I am not sure if you (or your son) know this, but e-mail is different than regular mail. It is electronic. There are rumors that it is available even if you are out of the country, unless that country does not have this thingy called "Internet". I think France might have that Internet thingy now though.
The kid must be dumb as a stump

Yeah, well that would make sense if ...oh........I don't know..........they had a computer in the house he is staying at?
Thanks for playing the "I don't know what the F I'm talking about game". You have won first prize. Vanna: Tell him what he's won.

You need to clarify your question to him. Do you mean tied up in the basement or buried in the backyard?

This kid has no Internet access at all? No SmartPhone? No Internet cafes?
It sure seems like this is just a clever plot for him to receive e-mails from his homo lover so that he can come out of the closet to you and not have you yell at him.
France.

I went to college for 4 years. Graduated with two bachelors and dean's list. I was paying 500 bucks a month rent to my parents after the age of 18 and never took out a student loan. I was working 60-80 hours a week waitering, but had also been working at various occupations since the 6th grade for college and to help pay family bills. I paid for my tuition by check.
No wonder this is being referred to as The Softest Generation.

You went quite a long way to get your gay humor in there. Great job. Hows your kid doing?
