There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.
Meet the new politics of hope and change - same as the old politics
What ... was your father abusive towards you? Did he fondle you in the naughty places? Is that why the subject of pedophelia bothers you so much?

I am not, but once again I am not exactly thrilled about what the other side is presenting. It's better than McCain I admit, but not much.
Is Romney really better than McCain at all? I'd call it mostly a push. McCain looks a lot worse to me because of his awful choice in running mate. Otherwise he was a rock of stability compared to Mitt.

However, if I find out Obama has actually murdered/threatened to murder all these people Little Rusty and BudBro claim he has, I'm going to be very angry and disappointed in him and may vote the other way.

So you're saying you'd rather have more separation between races than income in our country, gotcha.I'll vote for Obama over Romney for the simple reason that Mitt will be the wealthiest president in this country's history, so it's obvious who he's going to coddle and make changes to favor. The last thing this country needs is even more separation between the filthy rich and everyone else.

May as well write it on a piece of paper and throw it off a bridge. Wasted voteNope. Not again. With as many of Bush's policy's Obama has kept, he might as well be named George W. Obama.
Guess I'll write in Ron Paul.

There's not much he can do about the country's racists and the GOP's hatred for black men and instance on trying to make race such an issue. He's got bigger fish to fry. He's not know as the 'Great Divider' for nothing.

As for Mitt Romney, I won't vote for him no matter how vigorously he shakes his Etch-a-Sketch. The only thing consistent about him is his addiction to lying so it's not like he can say anything that I believe. I've got a complete lack of respect for how he forms his political "beliefs"

That sounds bad, it could be worse. He could be like Santorum and actually believe and follow through on the sh*t he says.
The other day my wife, who is so liberal she makes me look like Ron Paul, said that she doesn't agree with Frothy Mix on a single thing but she respects his ideological consistency and the fact that he has principled core beliefs.
I get what she's saying, but I think consistency is only a virtue if you're NOT a total dooshbag who's wrong about everything. That's like congratulating RP for being a welching, trolling phag for 10 years.

You hit the nail on the head. The economy still isn't great and the GOP has a legitimate shot at making Obama a one term President if they could just come up with a decent candidate. All Obama's campaing team has to do is play videos of Romney's flip-flops back to back in a number of ads, and the entire country will realize he's just a lying opportunist.Sign me up. I'm not a fan of President Obama but he's not awful. My biggest issue with him is his deficit spending and his lack of seriousness in approaching entitlement reforms. On the plus side, Obama's foreign policy is great, he's not beholden to right wing retards, and he's been less bad now that the GOP Boehners him. Further, the GOP will control at least the House and probably the Senate next year so we need Obama in there to prevent another total disaster like we had last decade when the GOP ran everything.
As for Mitt Romney, I won't vote for him no matter how vigorously he shakes his Etch-a-Sketch. The only thing consistent about him is his addiction to lying so it's not like he can say anything that I believe. I've got a complete lack of respect for how he forms his political "beliefs", for how he's run his campaign and for being a douche. At least if he does win, there's a chance he could be a effective president. I don't know what he actually believes and I doubt he does either. I think he just makes up his beliefs as he goes along depending on what the polls, focus groups, marketing experts, and special interest donors tell him to believe. That sounds bad, it could be worse. He could be like Santorum and actually believe and follow through on the sh*t he says.
The Presidency is ripe for the picking, and the GOP doesn't have one single guy who's even adequate. Huge fail and blown opportunity.

When I was on the hill last year, it was a pretty common sentiment that they're waiting until 2016, they want to control the chambers of congress this election. It seems pretty obvious this is the case because all the candidates were crap

Nobody who could get out of the GOP primary can win the general election.

As for policy? Mitt could actually be pretty good - despite his changing with the wind political strategies, he is a smart business man and a terrific manager - he did not do a horribe job as Gov. of MA.
I believe a Mitt Presidency could make a lot of progress towards improving our economy and fixing some of the Govmt's financail woes - but a Mitt Presidency would certainly introdcue an interesting question:
Do you really want your government run like a business? Do you want laws and public policy created based on the idea that what's profitable is what's implemented?
I don't believe we'll ever see Mitt win (at least not against Obama) - Mitt has in image problem and Obama wins any election vs. Mitt in the U.S.A where elections are more about "The Bachelor", "American Idol", and "Who's Smarter than a 5th Grader" - Obama will kill him in this arena, Obama and his campaign are just better at winning elections in their current form.

Yup. His Affordable Healthcare worked pretty damn well.

Hell no! Not everything should be about profits. I want what's best for the American people not for corporations etc. People before profit. However Romney believes Corporations are people.
And hell ya I'm voting for Obama! The GOP have been taken over by extremists. Reagan wouldn't even survive a GOP primary. The GOP have really gone over the deep end. Horrible policies, horrible candidates, too much pandering to the tea party & religious extremists.

This will be his biggest downfall. If wealthy people got more thsan one vote each (which I'm sure a lot of conservatives wish was the case), he might stand a chance. But the country is comprised of too many lower middle class and poor people for guy like him to win. Sadly for Republicans, their vote counts just as much as the CEO of Exxon.Yup. Voltaire and Newbie are both right. The election is RIPE for the taking and the GOP can't find anybody better than Romney??
Obama will kill him with flip flopping attack ads.
Plus when I vote for the chosen one, it helps expedite things. Instead of dragging this out for 20 years, lets get it over with. Run er ashore I say.
