Check out Hall's work with Robert Fripp on the EXPOSURE album (1979). It was initially conceived as part of a trilogy with Hall and Peter Gabriel. When that didn't pan out, Hall released SACRED SONGS and Gabriel released his second solo album.

Not sure who this Chromeo group is, but they teamed with Hall's band on Live From Daryl's House. He uses a vocoder similar to what Frampton uses on Frampton Comes Alive, except he has it hooked up to his keyboard. You can tell by Hall's face that he thinks it sounds awesome.
Mine is small, but the head spins.
