I have the 2nd overall pick in a 10 team keeper league, PPR, standard scoring(with 3 point bonuses at 300 yds passing and 100 yds rushing and receiving). We can keep 2 players, so essentially, our draft starts in the 3rd round. Players have to reenter the draft every 4th year, unless drafted as a rookie, then you can keep an extra year.My keepers are M. Lynch and AJ Green. The big names going back in are Drew Brees, Chris Johnson, Steven Jackson and AP. Im assuming the first pick would be CJ or AP. Should that be the way it shakes out, who would you take and does anyone think it would be a crazy reach to grab Trent Richardson with my pick. The guys in my league are rookie RB fanatics and there is NOOOOOO way T Rich would be available with my next pick. From what I read, hes the real deal, but its a pretty big risk using your #1 pick on an unproven, but I could use a stud keeper for 4 years if he blows up!! Any thoughts would be appreciated!!

I'd go for either CJ or Brees. IMO AP and S-Jax are on the downside of their careers. To answer the Richardson question, I'd take a look at the top rated rookie RB's over the past several years as a reminder as to how many of them actually pan out. Last year is a perfect example, would you rather have Mark Ingram, or Demarco Murray? Odds are the answer to that is way different now than it was at this point last year. Even a few guys who were considered "can't miss" have flopped, i.e. Knowshon Moreno.

Then go back and look at the game by game stat line that Brees put up last year, and imagine all those bonus points. I count 39, that's 6.5 TD's in a 6 pt pass TD league.

Year 1 Knowshown Moreno is fine to throw out there but I don't think Year 1 Mark Ingram is. The Browns aren't a passing-oriented / use 4 RBs kind of team (the Saints kept giving the ball to the fullback on the 1 yard line last year). TRich is more talented than Ingram or R.Mathews and much more talented than Moreno.

Assuming most keepers will be #1 RBs and you can keep him for an extra year...
1. Chris Johnson
2. Trent Richardson
3. Adrian Peterson
4. Drew Brees

pretty easy 1-2 choice I think

1. CJ

2. T-Rich

no need to compare t-rich to ingram. we knew off the bat the ingram wasnt going to the best fantasy situation.
2011-12 NY Jets and NFL predictions:
- NY Jets go 13-3 and win the AFC east (wrong)
- Sanchez and Tebow makes the AFC ProBowl roster (wrong)
- No rookie QBs will finish in the top 15 @ the QB position using FFToday scoring (way wrong)
- NE Patriots will not make playoffs (wrong)
edit: Oh well. Not too good. I'll try harder next year!
