The constitution is longer than this, but below is the summary version. Send an email to Stephen.T.Giles@gmail.com for more info. This is a new league. I run two other leagues as well, one going into it's 3rd year, and another going into its 2nd. The CBS fee is already paid for this year, and currently I have 4 owners paid and another 10 obligated, which isn't bad for getting started a week ago. The draft will be an extended (email) draft beginning a week into August, 3 hour clock, suspends overnight. Drop me a line if the below piques you interest.

NOTE: I write newsletters every week. In each I detail the previous week's highest scoring team, the highest scoring free agent pickups, the toughest start/bench decisions and the ramifications thereof, general league trends and storylines, and more. In this league, that'll include lots of stuff about our current 1-20 rankings.

dogpile:
A mound of people, especially people who are fighting or celebrating.
Any indiscriminate jumble of things.
To jump on top of someone, usually in a group.
To pile on or overwhelm, such as with criticism or praise.

This format is directly stolen from Matt Hoffman, who created King of The Hill. In that league, we have all 20 teams in one division, and we re-seed every week. Essentially, the #1 team plays #2, all the way down to #19 playing #20. Every week the new standings determine that week's match-ups. With this format, there are no playoffs. All 16 weeks are regular season, and the best record at the end WINS. Tiebreakers for standings are breakdown, then total points, then reverse draft order. Tiebreakers for games are total points, then bench points, then reverse draft order.

Check out these monster rosters and lineup options:

18 starters, 8 reserves (no roster position limits)

-Offensive starting options(6 offensive starters):
QB 2RB 2WR TE (standard)
QB 2RB 3WR (no TE)
QB 2RB WR 2TE (jumbo)
QB RB 3WR TE (single back)
QB RB 4WR (4 wide)
QB RB 2WR 2TE (Colts)

K

-Defensive starting options(11 defensive starters)
3 DL 4 LB 4 DB (3-4)
3 DL 3 LB 5 DB (3-4 nickel)
4 DL 3 LB 4 DB (4-3)
4 DL 2 LB 5 DB (4-3 nickel)

Scoring is a lot lower than you're probably accustomed to, as well:

Offensive Stats:
2 points for any Touchdown
1 point for any 2 point conversion
Yardage:
1 point for every 75 passing yards
1 point for every 20 rushing yards
1 point for every 20 receiving yards
Turnovers
-1 point for a FL
-1 point for every 2 INT

Kicker Stats:
1 point for any FG 37 yards or longer

Defensive Stats:
2 points for any TD
1 point for every 2 solo tackles
1 point for every 3 assisted tackles
1 point for every pass defended
2 points for every
-Sack (you also get a tackle for this)
-Forced Fumble
-Fumble Recovery
-Interception(you also get a PDEF for this for a total of 3 points)
-Blocked FG
-Blocked XP
-Safety

Scores usually range from 25-50 each week. Lots of nail biters. Super duper exciting. Thrills and chills!

Draft order is determined as such: when the $60 entry fee is paid, the owner chooses a former Super Bowl MVP from the list in the commissioner's notes. Each Super Bowl MVP represents a draft position that is blindly pre-drawn by the commissioner and a neutral party before any are awarded, and the commish takes the last remaining. (i.e. Dexter Jackson might be pick 13) This way, all entry fees are guaranteed paid before the draft. No entry fee, no draft slot. Draft is an email draft (also known as extended) with a three hour timer, draft robot suspended overnight. (Basically, if you're not gonna be around, use your queue.)

Entry will be $60, and payouts will be:

League Money: $1200
1st: $600
2nd: $300
3rd: $100
Win your money back pool: $50 (starts after week 10 for teams that declare their season a loss)
CBS Fee: $150

This league currently has reached 11 paid, 55%. I have a few more invited in that have not formally decided yet, so I'm still seeking owners. I run three leagues, so references are available upon request. The slow draft will begin on 8/19.

Thanks,
Steve

Below is the full constitution:

COMMISSIONER'S NOTE:
I write newsletters every week.

SUMMARY
This format is directly stolen from Matt Hoffman, who created King of The Hill. In that league, we have all 20 teams in one division, and we re-seed every week. All 16 weeks are regular season, and the best record at the end WINS.

TIEBREAKERS:
Tiebreakers for standings are breakdown, then total points, then reverse draft order. Tiebreakers for games are year-to-date total points, then bench points, then reverse draft order.

No keepers, redraft each season.

Check out these monster rosters and lineup options:

18 starters, 8 reserves (no roster position limits)

-Offensive starting options(6 offensive starters + kicker):
QB 2RB 2WR TE (standard)
QB 2RB 3WR (no TE)
QB 2RB WR 2TE (jumbo)
QB RB 3WR TE (single back)
QB RB 4WR (4 wide)
QB RB 2WR 2TE (Colts)

K

-Defensive starting options(11 defensive starters):
3 DL 4 LB 4 DB (3-4)
3 DL 3 LB 5 DB (3-4 nickel)
4 DL 3 LB 4 DB (4-3)
4 DL 2 LB 5 DB (4-3 nickel)

-Forced Fumble
-Fumble Recovery
-Interception(you also get a PDEF for this for a total of 3 points)
-Blocked FG
-Blocked XP
-Safety

That is a scoring quick reference sheet. Please look at the scoring settings above for the complete detailed scoring.

Scores usually range from 25-50 each week. Lots of nail biters. Super duper exciting. Thrills and chills!

DRAFT ORDER:
Draft order is determined as such: when the $60 entry fee is paid, the owner chooses a former Super Bowl MVP from the list in the commissioner's notes. Each Super Bowl MVP represents a draft position that is blindly pre-drawn by the commissioner and a neutral party before any are awarded, and the commish takes the last remaining. (i.e. Dexter Jackson might be pick 13) This way, all entry fees are guaranteed paid before the draft. No entry fee, no draft slot.

FAIR WARNING:
Once all team slots have an owner in them, the commissioner will continue to recruit. Unpaid slots will be overbooked with multiple owners until all teams have a paid owner. This prevents the commissioner from needing to find last second replacements and/or surrogates when an owner who asked to reserve a slot keeps promising to pay later, but doesn't. That screws everyone. Homey don't play that. First come, first served. This is ruthless but fair. To guarantee yourself a team, pay your dues, pick your MVP, and you are locked in as an owner. Another benefit: Once all are paid, I can set the manual draft order and owners can chat/research in our draft room weeks before the actual extended draft begins.

DRAFT TRADING:
Owners are welcome to trade their draft positions. This refers to your slot for the entire draft, not for specific rounds. Essentially, draft slot trades will be implemented when I set the manual draft order. I don't have a trade deadline for this yet, but it will be about a week into August, as resetting the draft order may wipe out queues, and I want at least two weeks prior to the draft with no draft order adjustments so people may queue up players without worrying about their queues vanishing.

DRAFT INFO:
Draft is an email draft (also known as extended) with a three hour timer, draft robot suspended overnight. (Basically, if you're not gonna be around, load your queue.)

2012 Draft begins on 8/19 at 5pm Central. Extended (email) snake draft. If we get close to the season and still have a long ways to go, the commissioner will announce a live finale to the draft to occur on Monday, 9/3 at 8pm Central.

MATCHUP DETERMINATION POSTING AND ADJUSTMENTS:
The commissioner will have the upcoming week's matchups posted and set each week by Tuesday night. In the event that a late CBS scoring adjustment affects the rankings, matchups will be changed to account for that if it occurs before the next scoring period begins. Once a scoring period begins, matchups are final. Any adjustment related changes will be posted to the league by the commissioner.

SCORING SYSTEM NOTES:
I tweaked King Of The Hill scoring slightly. As you can see above, this league will score assisted tackles, and the point threshold for yardage is lower, for solo tackles is lower, and it takes 2 interceptions for -1 point instead of 1 interception. CBS does not allow range scoring for interceptions, so I had to make that -.5 per interception. All other scores are whole numbers. If you aren't here from KOTH, you just wasted your time reading this paragraph. Sorry.

PAYOUT INFO:
Entry will be $60, and payouts will be:

League Money: $1200 (20 owners x $60)

1st: $600
2nd: $300
3rd: $100
Euthanasia Tournament: $50 (starts after week 10 for teams that declare their season a loss)
CBS Fee: $150

All payouts will be completed by the Friday after week 16. Likely earlier, but if a close contest could be affected by a CBS scoring adjustment, I may wait a couple days.

EUTHANASIA TOURNAMENT RULES:
When team owners declare their season a loss and ask to join the Euthanasia Tournament, the commish will keep track of their new records starting at 0-0, and detail the tournament standings in the weekly newsletter. Teams who wish to join this must declare for this between weeks ten and eleven. Although the CBS standings will show them mixed with the true contenders, the league newsletter will detail their actual tourney records, and they will only have matchups with other toilet tourney teams. In effect, they will become a six week mini-league separate from the true contenders. If an odd number ask to join after week 10, the team with the best record will be excluded, using the same standings tiebreakers as above. (breakdown, ytd points, etc.) Best record after six weeks wins the $50. Same standings tiebreakers for this, also.

In KOTH last year, if I remember right, we had 8 teams join the toilet, and 12 stayed in for the big prize.

DETAILED ADD/DROP POLICY & CONDUCT CLAUSES:
All free agent players will be on waivers from Sunday @ 12pm until waivers clear @ 1am Wednesday. Between then and the following Sunday, five minutes before the early game kickoffs, the free agent pool is open (all applicable players are off waivers) and players may be added at any time. Thursday game players will return to waivers early, 5 minutes before kickoff on Thursday.

Throughout the season, an owner may want to improve their roster by adding free agent players and releasing players that aren't performing to their expectations. With three exceptions, there are no limits to the number of Add/Drops an owner can perform, and there are no transaction fees.

1. The first exception is when an owner drops his entire team or a significant number of players, also known as "team dropping". Team dropping has a negative impact on the league and as such, any owner who elects to drop his team could be subject to immediate removal from the league, subject to the vote of the other owners. Players selected from waivers or added from free agency that were part of a team drop may be reversed. In such move reversals, the waiver ranks will not be reset, and changes will go into effect for the week in question.

2. The second exception is abuse of the waiver process. This is when a team owner adds then drops a series of players, putting those players on waivers and making them inaccessible to other team owners, also known as churning. Such an action could result in forfeiture of points as well as that team owner being blocked from making any additional add/drops for the remainder of the season.

3. The third exception is dropping of stud players. This league will not provide a specific list of players that cannot be dropped. However, teams dropping stud players may have a negative impact on the league if it is done to allow another team to gain advantage because of waiver order. Also known as “passing players” dropping of stud players will be reviewed on a case by case basis, and should an impropriety be suspected, a league vote will determine if the drop was reasonable or not. If the league determines the dropped player should NOT have been dropped the transaction involved will be reversed and the owner in question will be subject to league vote.

If any of these situations occur, please contact the league commissioner as soon as possible.

DISABLED LIST:
Two spots. Only players tagged by CBS as IR/DL will be movable to the injury spots. This is a redraft league, so this is irrelevant. Maybe you want to keep a IR guy as a roster mascot or something.

WAIVERS PROCESS DETAILED EXPLANATION:
In order to provide an equal opportunity for all owners to add players that are NEW TO THE FREE AGENT POOL, a waivers process is used. Owners' requests to add players on waivers are not executed immediately, but are put in a pending status for at least 24 hours. This allows multiple teams to request the same players. Every night between 12:00am ad 6:00am ET a waivers process will be run, executing the pending requests in “Waiver Rank” order. All transactions during the waiver process are effective for the next scoring period.

The team with a waiver rank of 1, considered the highest, will get its first requested player from waivers. After the transaction is executed, the team's waiver rank is then set to 12 (last), and all other teams move up one. The initial waiver rank of the season is based on the reverse order of the draft. The team that selected last in the first round of the draft will have a waiver rank of 1.

If a team's highest pending transaction becomes invalid because another team received the requested player, the transaction is bypassed and the team's next transaction, if one exists, becomes that team's highest. If a team doesn't have any pending transactions, or all players requested were taken by other teams, or the owner simply didn't request any players, there isn't any penalty and the team's waiver rank will not be changed.

Players who have cleared the waivers process (were not picked up via waivers) change to FREE AGENT status and are available for IMMEDIATE adding between between Wednesday at 1 AM and Sunday at Noon. After lineups lock on Sunday, ALL FREE AGENTS ARE BACK ON WAIVERS UNTIL Wednesday at 1am. When Thursday Night Football begins, players from those teams will go on waivers early.

TRADES:
Trades are not subject to a vote. Instant approval. Commissioner reserves the right to overturn trades if league members complain and collusion is determined.

SCORING ADJUSTMENTS:
CBS may make scoring adjustments after a week goes final. These are done by CBS and will not be changed by the commissioner.

COMMON SENSE TYPE ######
Rule/scoring changes will not be implemented during a season.
One team per person.

MISCELLANEOUS
The following trophies will be awarded in the league history (and to team profiles) when CBS opens the Commissioner product the following year:

Alpha Dog (League Champion)
Beta Bark (2nd Place)
Gamma Cadabra (3rd Place)
Pick Of The Litter (Euthanasia Tournament Winner)
Bone Collector (Highest Total Points)

These are silly award names, and I will probably change them.

BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL:
The commissioner reserves the right to make any decisions he feels are required for the good of the league.
