I updated (I have a 5)... it took a little time to get used to it, but overall, I like it. Had some funny battery issues the first day, but I let it drain all the way and it was fine after that.

I thought you meant the old 5... which is no longer available. But yes... the 5 and the 5c are basically the same, except for the plastic housing and the updated flash on the camera. The 5s has the fingerprint sensor and a completely different processor, plus the camera is better, so I wouldn't say it was the same as the 5.

Really? I've never had any problems. Of course, I don't ask it do much more than set reminders, call people and turn on my alarm. I think I might have used it to find the closest location of a chain type store and it worked okay.
