DOes anyone know if there is somewhere I can donate some $$? Has anyone seen his obit to see if there was a place his family requested donations to be sent?

    A black day

Wow. Was in a couple of leagues with him, and obviously dealt with him via email. Very nice guy. This is really sad news, he will be in my thoughts.
  3. Thought of this scene as soon as I read the title. The way the American pleads with the German as he is pushing the knife in his chest . . . I have watched that scene once, and if it is on tv, I change the channel when that scene comes on. Very tough to watch.

    Devery Henderson

Hard to tell who has worse hands, him or Troy Williamson.
  5. I was wondering if Clark Harris was going to go. Pretty shocked he lasted that long. he was extremely productive at Rutgers. Not really known as a blocker, but we need a pass catcher here anyways. I think he has a decent shot to stick. THe Pack had a need for a TE, but unfortunately, this was one of the worst TE classes, in recent history. Aside from Olsen and Miller, who both have serious questions as blockers, you might as well pick names from a hat. Taking a one dimensional tight end in Olsen at our pick would be foolish.
  6. I like the Clowney pick. We desperately need some speed at the WR position and CLowney was a track star at Va. Tech. I think he ran a 4.35. He shoul help out on returns initially, but don't discount him as a reciver. He is not simply a track guy playing football. He can become a solid # 3.
  7. I am happy TT didn't make the trade. Moss is not the same player he was 5 years ago. Nagging leg injuries on a guy who can only run deep routes is not a good thing. WR is definitely a position we need to address, but I want someone who will be around when we are ready to go deep in the playoffs. I think Greg Jennings is going to be a future # 1. But Driver is not getting any younger. And I am amazed that Ferguson is still on an NFL roster, let alone in a receiving rotation.
  8. Nice pick here. CLifton and Tauscher are starting to get some tread on their tires. Barbe can sit for a year or two to get acclimated to the huge jump in competition.
  9. Really surprised at all the venom for the Harrell pick. It's not like the guy had a second round grade. 6'4, 300 pounds. Played with one arm last year, and played well. Most people's seasons are over when they tear a biceps. Thats character. If he was healthy last year, you are looking at a top 10 pick. Kudos for TT for taking the best player available on his board. I have said before, we simply do not have the talent to reach for need right now, I don't care what our record was last year. Love the Brandon Jackson pick. High character guy, who his coach calls a perfectionist. Here is a 5 minute highlight tape. Look at the way he cuts. Solid one cut runner who has tremendous vision. Sets up and cuts off blocks perfectly. Perfect fit in our scheme: I will reserve comment on James Jones. Looks like a jack of all trades, and after Greg Jennings, I won't doubt TT's scouting ability on small school receivers. Everyone seems to like the Rouse pick, but I am torn. We all know he is going to knock people out, so he will be an assett on special teams, and against the run. But will his pass coverage hold up? Michael Boulware's transition to safety in the pros has been pretty bad, he gets toasted with regularity. High risk, high reward in my opinion, but I don't know if we have the luxory to let him sit and learn. Our safety play was atrocious last year.

    Swamp Dog gets his man?

I never understood why the Rams did not cut Bruce and let Curtis man the # 2 with MCDonald taking over the # 3. When Bruce went down two years ago, Curtis showed what type of player he was. I am sure Martz remembers. I'd like to see the $$$, but this would be a good get by the Lions. Roy Williams, Kevin Curtis, and Mike Furrey is a nice trio to have.

    Pack offers Rodgers for Moss....

I don't want Moss on this team, I don't care who we trade to Oakland. If this was 3 years ago? Sure, why not, I could deal with his character issues as long as he was producing. But the guy is not the same as he once was. And he is a 1 trick pony, albeit he was pretty darn good at that. He used his freakish size/speed/leaping ability to run by defenders and catch bombs from Culpepper. Now, with injuries, he is not the same. THrowing a boat load of cash at him would be foolish. Sign a Brandon Stokley and/or Kelly Washington for veteran depth and save the $$$$ and headaches. I want the Packers to be Super Bowl contenders, not playoff contenders. They are still at least a year away. TT needs to not break the bank and bring in cheap veterans and focis on the draft.

    Favre to play

Happy to see Brett back. Is he the player he was in his prime? Obviously not. Is he still a good NFL qb. Definitely. A new offensive line was broken in, and they had some serious growing pains finding the right combination. They steadily improved throughout the season which gives one great optimism for the future. As for the offensive weapons aside from Donald Driver - not much Is there a worse receiving tight end in the NFL than Bubba Franks? He drops a ton of passes, makes no yards after the catch and runs about a 5.9 40. Great blocker, but horrible receiver. David Martin was his usual 1 great play for every 10 terrible ones. And opposite Driver? Not much there. If the Packers want to get to the playoffs next year, they need to solve this problem. Most importantly, a pass catching tight end is needed, and I would not be surprised if Green Bay makes this their # 1 priority. At WR, many have been clamoring for Moss, but he just does not fit for several reasons. His game is predicated on speed, he is not a receiver who will make his living going across the middle. Have all the injuries cost him his legs? Add to that his horrible attitude, and he makes no sense. Greg Jennings, if recevered from his own injuries, is going to be a very good wide receiver opposite Driver, but there is no depth. As for the defense, I think there is a lot to like. AJ Hawk struggled early but really came on as the season went by (although I still stick by my pre draft assessment that we should have drafte Hloti Ngata). Aaron Kampman is creeping closer to being my favorite Packer defender of all time. Hard not to like him. I see TT getting a little more agressive for 1 or 2 free agents, but still will not blow all of the cap money he has on ridiculous long term deals. I think this is a 3 year plan for him, with 2006 being year 1. If we make the playoffs this year, I would be ecstatic. I can't even believe the Pack was 8-8 last year with all the youth on that team. After a couple dismal years, I am starting to get really excited about the future for the Pack. And as for Aaron Rodgers. He has shown zero, and I mean zero so far. If Favre plays another year after this, Rodgers will not be the starter for long when his turn comes up. Think Cody Carlson when Warren Moon retired.
  13. Definitely wasn't planning on betting today, but I was just skimming through this post and saw your 1st half line post. I could not believe it was set so low considering the first half drubbings Temple has suffered recently. Took Clemson at - 25. Thanks for bringing the spread to my attention
