    I can't 'set-up'

I purchased using a credit card but haven't received an email w a receipt. I have a file on my computer called football compiler 2009, when I unzip it and click 'set-up' I get an error message that won't let me go on, I've never bought this before so I don't know if I missed a set-up step or what??? I think I also checked the wrong excel box, too, when I was buying downloading...Could that be it? Am I screwed or what?

    Dynasty league talk

Youth is very important in a dynasty format. Rookies and 1,2, or 3 year guys only early at every position besides QB. Definately use it when evaluating who to pick from round to round. You're looking to draft tommorrow's stars NOT last years. The other thing I would say is to not be afraid to stock-pile at certain positions(if your roster size allows to carry enough xtras), take the best age/talent guy every round at rb/wr regardless of your roster need. Don't take your K(s) until the last 2 rounds. We cut to a certain number in ours and EEVERYONE cuts their K. K's will all even out...the guy that steals the late round star will have the advantage. The guy that takes the first K in the middle of the draft is telling you he's done drafting, he doesn't know what else to do... I love the dynasty league I am in. You are in charge of building and maintaining YOUR team. Study up...go in well prepaired and organized and set your team apart from the rest of the league... The other thing I would say is to make SURE you have a vote policy in place for trades. One lopsided traded in a dynasty league can KILL the league. One BAD owner can destroy his team, leave the league, and NO ONE ELSE will take it over. If everyone keeps a look out this usually doesn't happen.

    First Time Dynasty League

If it's an Auction/Dynasty league...how many players can you have on your roster? If you canafford to have them on your roster, try to study up on and grab some young unprovens and rookies cheap. I got Ryan Grant last year for a buck in the same type of league. Try to do this early when others are saving all their money for the present day big-name players. You only need about three decent money proven talent guys. If you're stuck between a mid-dollar so-so player and a cheap player with more risk/reward...go with the cheap guy. You'll find out how quickly careers turn/end in the NFL. Four/five? years ago I drafted SAlexander,LJohnson,JJones, CJohnson, RoyWilliams and thought I was set...and I was for a year. You have to keep up and stay on top of your team, all the time. The moment you stop getting better...YOU ARE getting worse. But it's worth it...they are by far the most involved/fun leagues.

    This trade keeps getting Vetoed

Because of name recognition...pure and simple. I've got to keep an eye on a dope in my dynasty league trying to pawn off McNabb as "a top 5 Qb". We've got a rookie taking over a team in this league and I'm not sure about his sea-legs yet... Some leagues recognize name over production/prediction...Maybe throw in SAlexander to apease the masses?

    Anybody Sitting Jennings?

I would go Jennings, Branch, Evans. I am sitting Burress in one of my leagues over Branch because he has been so inconsistant, lately and it's playoff time . If you wanted to gamble, your choice would be between Jennings and Burress. I would start Branch and Evans for sure.

    Addai, EJames, or AP(Chi)?

Lineup locked at kick-off tonight...I'm leanin' towards sitting Addai. Am I crazy???

    Trade for Steve Smith

In a heartbeat- As I was going over your roster, before reading your question, I was thinking that all you needed was an upgrade at WR...Absolutely no reason not to.

    Keeper Question

I took over a team in a 12 team keeper. You can keep one player for one year. Previous owner traded SAlexander for Portis and a 2nd round draft pick... My only option is CBenson or CPortis...I do have the second overall pick and I will be able to get a top 7 back with it (a couple teams ended up with two studs last year) but I have to keep a player. Other than middle of the road WRs i have these are my only options. RBs are VERY important becasue you have to start two and its a 12 team league. Anyway, give me your advice and I'll do the same...Who has a better year in '07? Thanks
  12. If your friendships and relationship with your family are so weak that they could be busted up by fantasy football then I would question the strength of these relationships in the first place. Every league I am in has friends in it. I go 'til the echo of the whistle and I expect them to do the same. If your league's rules are cleary stated then any discrepency has a clear solution. Take it seriously but IT IS A GAME not personal. I've had some pretty serious battles with friends over fantasy football but we were able to leave it on the field...I don't think I could be in a league that didn't have friends in it. What's the fun in beating the he11 out of a complete stanger????

Owner Quits 4 days before Draft

Fantasy leagues are about a group of people having fun and enjoying the game of football. I think the guy had a clue what this group's idea of "fun" was before 4 days until they drafted. With so many options available to him, I think quitting when he did was just weak sauce.
  14. I think 16 is better. I'm in a league with 14 and we can't make pickups until 8:00 am Tues, so there's always a rush to make add/drops. I really see no drawback to having 16 spots and letting those owners that enjoy speculating a little, do so...

Owner Quits 4 days before Draft

Sounds like he was looking for an excuse to leave... This happened in a league I was in ( a dynasty league) and I got ahold of everyone in the league and had them all ask people they knew if they wanted in. I ended up choosing from amongst eight owners. Fantasy football leagues are kind of like poker home games, the circles usually run into each other. Most people are in more than one league and are looking for other quality leagues to join. So spread the word. Doing this by phone is alot more efficient than doing by e-mail/message board. You also might want to think about posting at whichever site hosts your league.
