Options for 2 QB league

Recommended Posts

I have a league that i have a 12 man 2QB starter league. How have people been setting up FF Buddy to handle adding importance to the QB position? Last Starter drafted option seems to overly up the QB i was thinking maybe upping the Baseline adjust factor up.. but how much?

Anyone have thoughts on this?

What are the results - say, top 50 overall - when you put in 2 QB starters and Median Drafted overall ranking method? Make sure to list your starters at other positions too.

Seems like QB are undervalued. Would you expect about 6 of the first 12 or so picks to be QB? That sounds about right to me. When you have to start 2, you probably want to have at least one through the first three rounds. But, it does depend on the starters at other positions too. What are the starters at RB, WR, TE, Flex, etc.?

Mike,

Its a 2QB, 2RB, 3WR 1 TE 1 flex (RB/WR/TE) 16 rounds. Max QB is 3. Redraft league. 6pts TD for all. Passing 50yd/pt all run/rcv is 10/pt No IDP. 16 rounds. I am in the 7/12 serpentine.

Last year i used the FFbuddy but really didnt know how to set it up and decided that i would grab a qb in the first 2 rounds then another in rounds 3/4. As it worked out i took Stafford in first round and on the turn Cam was there and grabbed him. Had those 2 performed the whole season im pretty sure i would have been top 3at least. As it was I made a huge comeback at the end.

I just dropped these starters into Draft Buddy, no change in the overall ranking method (Compiler Draft Pick Recommended) and got the following results:

* Brees #2, Rodgers #6

* 6 QB in the top 20

* 8 QB in the top 25 plus 9th QB at #31, 10th at #40

Exact same settings but switch to Median Player Drafted overall ranking method gave me this:

* Brees #1, Rodgers #3

* 4 QB in the top 14, 6 in top 20

* 9 in top 25, 10th at #37, 11 at #42

They basically all moved up a little bit but didn't add that many more to the top 40. I think I would go with the Median Player Drafted results for a 2 QB league (without starting that many more RB/WR/TE from a traditional fantasy league). You'll have to judge as you go if guys are jumping on QB extra early to get their pair, and whether you can take advantage by waiting and still getting a decent enough second QB, or otherwise jump in and make sure you get two top QB early and worry about RB/WR a little later.

I'm not sure why the top 50 you posted isn't more heavily weighted QB like my results. Is the scoring perhaps more advantageous for RB/WR than QB given you do start a pair of QB? That could have some impact. I just used the default scoring included in Draft Buddy.

Thanks for the follow up Mike. I think that my league devalued the QB some as the yardage was 50/pt for qb and 10/pt for RB/WR

Ah. Yeah, that would make a difference, because they are getting points for yardage at half or less than they would in typical leagues that use the 1 per 10 for rushing and receiving yards. Rushing QBs must be extra valuable for your league. Maybe something you want to put a little extra weight towards for your second QB.
