I like LL. :dunno:

He wasn't too bad when he pitched for the Cardinals, but his first year out of St. Louis has been a disaster...

A change of scenery might do him some good, but his numbers have been awful this season...

Regular season. Yay.

Will be the biggest post-season failure since the 2001 Mariners

Bullpen cannot be fixed. Starters have never won in the playoffs.

where have I heard this before

you must be new here.

Lou Gorman and Dan Duquette.

I liked Theo, just thought he got all of the credit for 2004, when that's just not even close to true.

Theo had the balls to get rid of Nomar and trade for Cabrera and give him the job. Changed everything.

If your name is Nomar (Ramon spelled backwards) you deserve to not win a thing !!

I kid - I have nothing against Nomar - he was a good guy.

Now don't get me started about Pokey Resse

Being in 1st place of the NL East is like winning a gold in the special olympics

True. The Phillies pitching is legit. Their hitting and fielding is atrocious.

Duquette is killing it this year.

Lou Gorman is famous for saying, the sun will rise, the sun will set, and Ill have lunch. That and trading Bagwell for Larry Anderson.

I know you're old enough and a good enough fan of baseball to know what a good gm Gorman was

He had his ups and downs. The reality is that all GM's in Boston, LA and NYC (amongst others) have it easy because they can make mistakes and not be crippled.

He hasnt been in the NL for several seasons and hes hurt. Is he still any good? Phils didnt really seem to need a catcher. I like Alfaro.

Nothing better than the baseball non-waiver trade deadline...

I've never been a fan of teams renting players for 2-3 months. On the whole, it can make the playoff push and the post season more interesting, but it cheapens it a bit.
