SUXBNME 1,324 Posted January 23, 2018 I used cheat sheets for the 80s draft and will use them for the 70s draft. Why? Because there are so many damn songs and artists that I forgot about in both eras that it's nice to remember them again. By cheat sheets I mean google popular songs in the 70s / 80s /whatever. Try it...You'll see what I mean. in other werds, even though we were on the phone for an hour tonight talking about this, Bunny, lick my taint. eta: I see you poasted this before we talked...nevermind...my bad
SUXBNME 1,324 Posted January 23, 2018 That could happen to me too. I didnt buy many albums in the 90s and then moved to single song downloads as they became readily available. But there might be more there than we realize. Pearl Jam and G'nR

BunnysBastatrds 1,913 Posted January 23, 2018 I dont use charts or cheat sheets for this stuff. I just remember what I was listening to at the time and that guides me. From memory, Ive made a list of about 50 songs for the 70s that I would love to have on my team. Well see how many I can actually get. Bull !!! Pick from your heart. Don't do the top 100 songs. The top five so far are an embarrassment. Are they iconic???? Yes. My top picks are ones I'd like to hear on a road trip. Those three first ones would put me to sleep. Think forward. Road trip music. Not what the 100 countdown is.

RaiderHaters Revenge 3,578 Posted January 23, 2018 yah I am glad I am out of this one I would have picked Bohemian Rhapsody no 2 behind Stairway fwiw Night Moves and Imagine are the only other 2 songs picked so far I really liked and while the 2 obvious Skynard songs have gone, I would have picked another of their's before them as far as Bruce, couldn't stand any of his music 70s 80s don't matter

RaiderHaters Revenge 3,578 Posted January 23, 2018 I think id want to be picking around now though, I got my 2 I would go with here and at the turn
titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted January 23, 2018 I use a cheatsheet for dating purposes only. Since the only music I heard in the 70's was in utero for the last 8 months of '79, I don't really know what was late 60's and what was 70's. Picking my favorites though. shotsup 832 Posted January 23, 2018 1.8 - The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again Not to knock Baba O'Reiley, lots of folks think it's the best Who song. I don't though, I like this song better. You know I was really on the fence here. 1a and 1b. Both iconic rock 70's songs. If I took WGFA would you of taken BO ? Just curious

ZeroTolerance 582 Posted January 23, 2018 So much bitching. The only songs picked so far that I don't have on my thumb drive in my car are Magic Man and Night Moves (the latter simply because living in Michigan meant getting beaten over the head with Bob Seger songs for three decades). The three songs I mentioned that I was considering for my pick aren't songs I went off of by some website or the charts, they are songs I think are excellent. Just curious No. Im more attuned to the timelessly depressing bipartisan political observation. Most people prefer Baba ORiley though. My Plan B hasnt been chosen yet, Vudu knows what it is because I PMed him when I went to bed last night.

Mike Honcho 4,016 Posted January 23, 2018 It's the signature song from probably the biggest rock star to come out of the 70's. Whatever. Wait, I thought Springsteen did that song.
Big Guy 1,400 Posted January 23, 2018 1.14 Maggie May - Rod Stewart solid It's one of the few songs that never gets old for me, and I've literally heard it thousands of times.
Mike Honcho 4,016 Posted January 23, 2018 Really? Freebird and Hotel California are fine and BTR is getting shite? Ok. Hotel California sucks and I wish I could never hear it again. I would say the same thing about Freebird which is about ten minutes too long but no one plays it anymore because of it sucking even more. Disagree that both songs suck, both songs have two of the best guitar solos in them, neither is overrated.
5-Points 2,726 Posted January 23, 2018 solid It's one of the few songs that never gets old for me, and I've literally heard it thousands of times. American Pie and Maggie May were my #'s 1 & 2. Glad one of them fell to me at 14.

Hardcore troubadour 12,627 Posted January 23, 2018 Bass & Drum solos suck before they ever start. Twice I went to see Song Remains The Same at the midnight movie. Twice I fell asleep during Bonhams solo.
