My parents still own a camper and just bought their first new one ever. They had at least 5+ used campers before that. Buy used. I will repeat, buy used, except if you only think you will go a few times a year, then rent. Thats what I was going to do if I ever bought one was to buy it used. Use their price as a bargaining tool with your local dealer. As far as the rv goes. I highly recommend a free standing table instead of the both. The last two RV's I've bought had outdoor kitchens. Huge plus. The specs say 20lb LP tank? You should see if it can be had with 2 30lb tanks. With a young one and a wife, you'll use the furnace more than you think. I could go on and on. RLLD 3,455 Posted December 3, 2018 I bought a pop up about 6 years ago, started with that type just to get our feet wet and get into the activity/hobby. Just sold that unit this past weekend, plan to his some RV shows in the spring to see if an appropriate price can be found. Often the original asking price is a steaming pile of excrement, as with many things. Have really enjoyed it for the most part, holiday camping can actually be a blast, especially Halloween. Can do some cost-effective vacationing with it. Hotels at many locations will gouge the living sh!t out of you, and this is a nice alternative. benefit of a pull behind is that you can drop it, then spiral out to areas nearby and take in a large area without having to move your unit. Many national parks do not have water and electrical hookups, so a unit like you posted is great. The weight thing is where I am limited, I need to stay around 7000lbs The fifth wheel I pull with a 2013 F250 Diesel PU. The "Park Model" stays put. They delivered it with a F350 though. Most people who pull campers destroy their transmissions. You'll want a vehicle with a transmission cooler. Most PU with the tow package have them along with the required wiring for electric breaks on the trailer and beefed up suspension. If your tow vehicle squats too much when you are hitched up to the trailer you can always add airbags to the rear end. Basically I don't want to deal with people or their pets. My wife and I looked into getting a small one recently but ultimately decided against it. Crowded parks were one of the reasons we held off. I've got plenty of land,a 2 acre pond and a covered gazebo by the pond with enough power to have a band.
