Fred Arborgast wheedler

I picked this guy up today as part of a tackle lot. From the 60s. Still in good shape. Can't wait to use it.

They made some cool stuff back in the day.  My grandpa had a box full.  Hula popper, weedless frog, jitterbug.  Cool stuff.

Ah!  I couldn't tell if that was a leaded or rubber head.

My favorite obscure bait from my childhood was the Doug Hannon  snakebait. My local tackleshop had a few and I literally dreamed of fishing Okeechobee for bass big enough to use the snake bait.  Fishing was life when I was 12.

That looks like a weight. It's actually wood. Makes it super light. Supposed to be a topwater lure.

You haven't been posting much. 

 

I need another lightweight reel and was debating whether I could be a hypocrite or not. They did not have any daiwa bg in stock and I almost went with a penn battle.  I held off though. 

 

Heading out tomorrow for speckled trout, sheepshead, and red fish. My freezer is empty and I bought grocery store fish last weekend 😠
