What's your go-to salad dressing?

Recommended Posts

Having one for lunch now with Ken's low-fat raspberry vinaigrette dressing as we speak. Stuff is fantastic, I could drink it out of the bottle. Highly recommend. Normally have to do a French or Catalina if I go out.

Are you a boring Ranch person? What's your fav?

It depends. At Longhorn's I'll do ranch. At other places, I'll do ranch and honey mustard mixed.

Interesting. I like both of those, that's a curious mix. Might go well with chicken tenders

Exactly. If you have an O'Charley's around you get their southern fried chicken salad (chicken tenders cut up in it) and try it. :)

Kens Italian is the bomb. But then again, most of their dressings are.

I'll take a little Ken's Italian on a good hoagie any day. Freaking fantastic.

That's actually pretty funny you say that. I was in Erie PA (bout 40 miles from here) over the weekend and was right down the road from one. Might check that out next time I'm down that way

I make my own usually.

Balsamic, olive oil, dijon, dried basil and parsley.

Honey, lime juice, white vinegar, oil

Lemon juice, olive oil, salt

For store bought, I like Marzetti's blue cheese.

Hands down the best salad dressing is 1000 island mixed 50/50 with creamy garlic dressing. You will never go back once you have this

Newman's family recipe Italian. I could drink that from the bottle. I can't get past it to try any of their other dressings.

May have to try Ken's. Everyone says they got good variety as well.  Would love to find one of these: low-fat raspberry vinaigrette that is as good as the stuff a restaurant in the mall back in the 1980's had. Man, that stuff you could definitely drink.

I put the raspberry walnut on a salad with some grilled pork chop, craisins, and parmesan cheese. The sweet/savory mix is out of this world.

Yeah it really is great.  Definitely one of my favorite "lighter" dressings.

I remember a buddy of mine when we were kids we went to California. His parents friends owned a vineyard. Probably the simplest meal I ever had. But they grew their own lemons grown garlic obviously their own grapes for wine.

Sitting out in the middle of a vineyard beautiful evening, grilled steaks with a salad dressing that had to be nothing more than good olive oil oh, oh yeah they made their own olives too, fresh garlic ground, salt and pepper. I could not eat enough salad. Even more than the steak I remember the salad just because of that dressing.

I eaten n some very nice places that were incredibly expensive. But this is easily one of my top three meals of all time.

Ken's used to make a good Caesar dressing.  I can't find it anymore.  They sell one at Sam's that I like, Olive Garden Signature Italian.  It's pretty tasty.

Ken's does a good job.

i have never been a Newman's fan (across the board)

Always get extra Italian and/or vinegar and oil to add to an Italian hoagie.

Depends on the type of salad but usually I'll go with Thousand Island or Dorothy Lynch Homestyle.

You know you're in Texas when...

I remember I was out to lunch with somebody one time and they ordered the Asian salad. You know, one ton noodles, bean sprouts, snap peas, carrots sunflower seeds yada yada yada. There's really only one dressing that goes with that. The sesame ginger dressing.

"Uh, could I get Ranch instead?"

:Headslap
