Ray_T 589 Posted March 4, 2019 https://www.cfl.ca/2019/02/27/alouettes-release-johnny-manziel/ for those who care..... As a CFL fan, I watched him play.... poorly. it is questionable whether he played well enough to retain starting QB duties in the CFL regardless. but it does appear he was not able to meet the conditions required for him to play in the CFL. Whether that means a failed drug test or some other off field problem I cannot say. but after Montreal released him from his contract, the CFL specified they will not register any other contracts signed with him. (ie. this would be equivalent to a suspension)
weepaws 2,459 Posted March 4, 2019 Failed drug test would also be a off field issue. Sadly it’s not t a surprise expecally since I read about this about a mouth ago, second given who this news story is about. One can only pray that mr Johnny football can get right
Ray_T 589 Posted March 12, 2019 I suspect it does not matter. Johnny Football put up poor numbers in the CFL. I doubt any NFL team will touch him. He's a candidate for the AAFL or the XFL if he can clean his act up. Most likely nobody will want to sign the guy.
