CNN, just pathetic

Washington (CNN)The only thing worse than the near extinction of press briefings in the Trump White House might be actually having a briefing.

In her first appearance behind her iconic podium in 42 days, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders on Monday did nothing to answer questions boiling up about President Donald Trump, the administration and associated scandals during her long absence.

Quote
But she quickly took the chance to reignite controversy over Trump's comment last week that Democrats are an "anti-Jewish party" following remarks critical of Israel's American supporters by Muslim Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
"Frankly, I think you should ask Democrats what their position is," Sanders said, seizing on a chance to deepen divides between the Democratic leadership and a Washington neophyte who was chastised by her party bosses.

If you dare to stand up to activism posing as journalism at CNN they can't take it, only submission is acceptable to them....and then to portray the evil Omar as some sort of victim???   Jesus H that takes balls.....

It was weird to see Omar get called anti Semitic for questioning the US relationship with Israel.

The part about Trump and Tim Apple. First, Trump tried to just 5 tonight that he said Tim Apple. He could have just let it go. The late-night guys did their thing and we're totally fine with moving on. But Trump, being the inveterate liar he is, and horribly insecure, couldn't let it go.

So, first he said that he had actually said Tim Cook, but that the fake news made up a story. Then, upon realizing we invented recording devices, he said that he golden temple to quote save time and words. Of course, by then, he's burned off another 500 words and countless time explaining that.

Then, realizing how stupid that was, went back to saying that he did say it. Then he didn't say it. Then Sarah Manatee Sanders getting on the game and,

...Jesus Christ it's a two-word, two syllable name for Pete's sake.

SO glad these guys are in charge of our nuclear Arsenal.

I was just going to post a headline on here...."CNN Pushes America Towards Civil War"

If they want to create unusual headlines, can't we all?

How about "Reports In that 47% of CNN Employees are Pedophiles" ( I did hear that report from someone)

Thirdly,  I think its funny how "Trump Divides America"   The Conservatives hated Obama ....and there wasn't word of Obama "dividing America".

Its because the Conservatives wake up, go about their business.  Sure, during the commute, at the water cooler, etc, Conservatives griped about Obama.

They just don't get violent and carry signs and march in mobs and vandalize property and throw molotov cocktails at police and shoot each other.

The liberals are diving America because they are a bunch of helpless whiny focks who can't take care of themselves, so they lash out at those who are successful.  "It's just not fair. I should get half of what you have! Wahhhhhh"  Liberals are a bunch lazy c0cksuckers.

So he makes a verbal typo and yep...libs attack it. Attack what you can.   Rather than be concerned that your party is a bunch of lazy lesser quality Anti-American people, that side with the terrorists, gangs, and murderers, you're concerned with misspeaking.

Obama donates money to terrorists and you're good with it.  But mad at a saying something incorrectly about a technology company...whoaa we can't have that.

Think about that.....how much of a retard does that make you look?

You're okay with funding terrorism, but against misspeaking.

I think it to be a weak correlation, apparently it is a "trope".  Firstly, i take issue with the whining about "tropes" I think that is just a weasly way of going about whining...but a number of folks are calling her out on it,  so maybe it really does offend them, who knows.....I think Omar does have hateful thoughts and this is an attempt to call them out, to me, still weak....but it does not remove my perception of her as having those evil thoughts.

Probably just some "you too-ism" going on here.  But i will take it, any individual or group using moral high ground should have this done to them

Not acknowledging the impact of some of Obama's actions as divisive is disingenuous.

wow. The syllogisms here are fantastic.

" you laugh at Trump flip-flopping like a goldfish in a frying pan and that just proves that you love terrorist!" Wsaah!!!

Think we've been through this one before with anybody who saw the Iraq War as a pile of bullshit. Well I'd rather fight him over there then fight him over here! You can't criticize the president in a time of War! You love terrorist! After 9/11 everything changed! Lol

Usually I see lefties accused of being PC and race baiting, odd to see the right wing falling all over themselves to play the phony outrage bigot card because Omar questioned our relationship with a foreign nation.

AIPAC  is on the record as bragging, literally bragging that anybody who criticizes a policy proposal or position of theirs, they literally just scream anti-semite! And congressmen and Senators fall all over themselves to prove their love of Israel.

as much as I don't love her words, or her headgear, it is about time somebody had balls enough to call out a AIPAC. Jews represent 3% of the population, yet AIPAC is the second most powerful Lobby in Congress. Why the fuuk is that? It's not about anti-semitism, it's about over-privileged over-representation.

Yep, it proves that both sides can dwell in the gutter, sadly.  I would prefer that they pursue something more legitimate, but can I really fault the right for playing on the field created by the left?   I want to say yes, but I also acknowledge that asking the right to stay above it is to ask them to play the game at a severe disadvantage...

I was going to post about that. How much of a real friend is she? We went to war with Iraq to keep Israel from going to war with Iraq. We have a huge base in Djibouti basically designed to keep Israel from going to war with Iran. Our whole existence basically is to keep Israel from turning the place into a shitshow that we'd have to go in and clean up.

are foreign policy for the last 80 years god dammit has been based on a flawed premise. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. How did that work out with Iraq being the enemy of a Iraq? how did that work out with Afghanistan being the enemy of Russia? And on and on.

and in return, we have been targeted repeatedly for our blind, mindless backing of Israel on every single matter. Hell, Congress is even trying to shove through a law that makes it literally illegal for Americans to boycott Israel when they disagree with a particular policy of any kind. How anti-American is that?

Like I said, that last part is actually proof that they have way too much power in American politics. No I meant you can literally go back 80 years and there has been the highlands beneficial from Goldman Sachs every single White House.

And as far as being our friend? Israel is routinely listed as being number 3 in terms of foreign countries spying on the US and its interest.

Honestly? Name one thing that Israel has done overtly that has helped us in the least bit. We can't even let them help us in places like Iraq or Afghanistan or Syria because even the appearance of that is deemed to be 2 inflammatory for the region.

I honestly need someone to explain to me what I’m missing.

I have half followed that story, and I didn’t find her comments offensive. Yet the right and the left seemed to both take issue. My gut reaction is maybe she is being attached as anti-Semitic simply because she is a Muslim and questioned anyging Israel related, but what am I missing? I need to be educated on this one.

A lot of public agencies make vendors sign affidavits saying that they don’t / won’t do business with Iran. Just in the past year I’ve seen more of them making vendors sign affidavits saying they won’t participate in boycotts of Israel.

The irony is that American Jews aren’t nearly as supportive of this kind of thing than conservatives. Neocons love having Israel as their excuse for perpetual war in the ME.

There are several podcasts with versions of that name. I just downloaded one titled “The House Condemns Hate” from KCRW’s Left, Right, and Center. Is that the correct one?

I think Wiff’s point was that beyond making a joke or two, nobody cared about Trump’s little mistake here. The story is: why did Trump choose to lie and claim that his making a little mistake never happened, and anyone that believes he actually made a little mistake is falling for fake media making up fake news?

But I get it...we need to overlook this stuff, so we don’t become a radical socialist country next year. Boogeyman and all.

I did at one time, now I mostly watch sports or Discovery, Smithsonian, HGTV etc.

At one time I watched CNN pretty regularly, but now I mostly avoid it.  If Lemon, Van Jones, Cuomo are on....I will not watch it.....if others are on it is somewhat palatable, and a decent source for competing viewpoints. MSNBC is something I would turn to more likely for competing viewpoints at this juncture.

I don't know how you work that out.  Libertarians generally vote conservative.  Besides, a lot of articles that I read at the time - and one of the reasons why Hillary was projected to win - specifically stated that Trump was going to lose a lot of votes to Johnson.
