Mike FF Today 607 Posted March 20, 2019 Here's a good read on Doug Baldwin and the injury issues he dealt with last season and the potential for hernia surgery in April. Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin, who had knee and shoulder surgeries earlier this offseason, may be headed for even more work soon. Baldwin said in an appearance on KJR-AM 950 Wednesday with former teammates Cliff Avril and Jermaine Kearse that he has “more surgeries on the way, most likely.” NFL Network's Mike Garafolo then reported that Baldwin is scheduled to see sports hernia specialist Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia in April with surgery a possibility. Baldwin battled abdomen injuries during the 2018 season, when he had at least six different injuries. “Oh, I am on the downside of my career,” Baldwin said. “I’m 30 years old.” Garafolo took to Twitter to further speculate that Baldwin’s football future remains uncertain, writing: “I do know he’s told people close to him the injuries are really taking a toll on him. We’ll see what he decides.”
Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted March 21, 2019 Stock up on David Moore. Unfortunately Pete Carrol isn't demanding his offense pass more. His ultra conservative ball control offense will not work without perfect conditions. Wilson should be allowed to sling it
weepaws 2,459 Posted March 21, 2019 How about Lockett, is stock good really rise. I would think they would look at a wr in this upcoming draft.
Kopy 491 Posted March 21, 2019 I'm not to concerned about Baldwin at this point. If you ask me again towards the end of july, I might have a different story for you. But for now, I don't believe him to be a concern for the season. He's got 2 years left on his contract, I think he'll fulfill them and then they mutually part ways. The only WR they've seemed to have any interest in this off season, has been Jordy Nelson. Although it was a pretty weak FA pool, so that might have something to do with it. But I do agree. WR would be a position of need come draft time. They don't have a 2nd rounder this year. And knowing them, they will trade back for more picks (or at least attempt to). But if they were to stay where they are. Then I can see them going DE round 1, and WR round 3.
sderk 1,040 Posted March 21, 2019 I get how some of these players are hooked on playing, but man, there comes a time when it's just the right thing to do to step away and preserve what health you have left in your body and do something else.
weepaws 2,459 Posted March 21, 2019 Based on last season, and Baldwin’s inability to really produce as he as done in the past, I would be concern. And at this time I’ll be removing him from my top 60 list of WRs. When the player himself starts talking the way Baldwin did last season and already this offseason, it’s a concern. DocNiner 44 Posted April 24, 2019 Yeah, my money'son Lockett this year to be Seattle's top receiver. Just not sold on Baldwin staying healthy or even playing all year.
