tony hardware 0 Posted October 12, 2006 Yes, affect - to influence (verb), effect - a result (noun). That's two points on the SATs.

wiffleball 4,790 Posted October 12, 2006 "Affect" is generally a verb. "Effect" is generally a noun. No need to thank me. A good way to remember that is that there is an "E" in Affect and there is an "E" in "Verb". No wait, there's two "E's" in "Effect", that won't work. A good way to remember that is there are two "N's" in "noun" and there are two "E's" in "Effect". Yeah, that's it. And, it you put the two "n's" in "noun" together, they kind of look like a sideways "E". - For "Effect". hth
