ggroovy17 0 Posted September 23, 2006 I was offered SJax/A.Boldin for Shaun Alexander. Is this a situation where quantity will overcome quality? My Team: QB: Warner, Bledsoe RB: Alexander, Dillon, Maroney, Foster, MoMorris, Jones-Drew WR: Wayne, J.Walker, M.JOnes, J.Shockey, J.Witten K: Wilkins Def: Buffalo
typhus 13 Posted September 23, 2006 Thats a tough one man,,,, looking over you roster I like your Maroney/Dillon handcuff, might save your team. What you have to decide on is how to play your hand with Alexander. If I were you, I would be looking at the team in your league that has the best stock of 2nd tier rb's and get 2rbs in exchange for Alexander the great. Depends alot on if you can start 3 rbs in your league, if not stay put with what you got. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=236456
Cuse9 131 Posted September 23, 2006 Well you could definitly use Boldin. The biggest problem I see with the deal is security. I don't ever remember SA missing any signifigant time due to injury. He is as solid as you can get. While Jackson has looked good, he still hasn't found the end zone. Back to back games of 100 yd games is pretty good though. Boldin is great, but splits catches with Fitz and Fitz is the better endzone target. He also missed quite a few games the last few years due to injury. If it's a keep league...do it. SA is 29, so he will start to decline over the next few years while Jackson and Boldin are still rising. If it's not......helk you still do it. If Jackson starts scoring TD's while putting up the yards, then he is top 5 back!! It's a tough decision....getting rid of a player the caliber of SA is always tough!! I think the talent in the deal is too good to pass up on. Good luck.

The other thing I keep on thinking is if Alexander were to go down, I have MoMorris who would still be a serviceable RB. I'm just not sure.

Still nothing to even consider him even close to being injury prone tagged,,, just thought of that game when I read your post.
STEELERMAN 0 Posted September 23, 2006 That is a tough call.....You get a solid RB back + a top end WR so it is definately fair. If you have to start 3wr's I would definately do it! If not, stand pat. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=236471
bauman88 0 Posted September 23, 2006 I'd do it. Alexander is hurt and this "sore foot" could nag for a while. Jackson is the Rams battering ram know and Boldin will help out your WR corp see me http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=235688
dojo_commish 0 Posted September 23, 2006 DO IT! I am a Seattle local, and it's not the same running game here. Losing Hutch is becoming more and more noticable as they are now on their 2nd string guard. Although some say he's better than the 1st string guy, how do you second guess holmgren. St. Louis is a run first team, and Arizona throws the ball just a bit . Do the deal. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=236475
ggroovy17 0 Posted September 23, 2006 It's just hard to give up Alexander in the 3rd week. I just don't trust SJax because of his injury issues. Alexander has been a model of durability.
BOLTSRULE 0 Posted September 23, 2006 definately do it if you start 3 WR's. Sjax is top5 material as is Boldin. I think it is a no brainer. MIne http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=236492
vinniedasquid 0 Posted September 23, 2006 I like the trade. Although it's tough giving up on SA after 2 weeks, most of what I've heard and seen the last few weeks leads me to believe he's going to drop off a bit, still top-tier perhaps, but not clearly in the top 2-3 rb's. Orlando Pace is coming back for the Rams which should help their offense significantly. IMO you could use a bit of an upgrade at receiver (not sure how many you start), and either Boldin or Plax should help you out and offset any perceived difference between Alexander and Jackson. I think you have a better upside with the 2-for-1. Thanks for your opinion on mine!
