RB: Slaton (@Buf), R. Brown (@NYJ), Forte (Cle), LT (Oak), Rice (Den) - Starting Slaton and R.Brown (concerned about Brown - someone else instead?)

 

WR: VJax (Oak), Jennings (Minn), S. Smith (@Ari), Boldin (Car), Welker (Bye) - Wondering about Boldin and his health - pickup Burleson or CJ if he starts in place of Boldin?

 

DEF: Don't like GB's matchup so picked up Indy - can pick up SD (Oak), Chi (Cle) instead. Leaning towards Ind because don't want 4 Chargers starting and not sold on Chi but worried a bit about SF! Can always drop Kaeding and pick up Folk, Prater, or Stover (but he's ranked high for FG chances this week and we get high points for 40 yds and over)...

 

To recap:

1) Slaton and Brown?

2) Keep & start Boldin or replace with safer Burleson or CJ if he's healthy enough to start?

3) Start Ind or pickup Chi or SD defense (if SD, would be starting 4 Chargers so likely dump Kaeding for Folk, Prater, or Stover)?

Slaton is an absolute no-brainer. The Bills are horrible against the run, so he may actually get going a little this week. Plus, he'll undoubtedly get a couple pitches and screens that will go for good gains. As for Ronnie Brown ... why are you concerned? The Jets are nothing special against the run, and he's the #1 offensive weapon in MIA.

 

I'd play VJax and Boldin. If Boldin doesn't play against a horrible Panthers team, you mentioned you have access to Burleson. I'd go with him. SSmith (CAR) is almost droppable at this point, but only because of his situation.

 

I'd play CHI DST. They don't need to be world beaters - just Browns beaters. The Browns are terrible. This is a premier matchup. I am personally benching Minnesota DST against GB in order to play ARI against the Panthers, for instance.

Any other thoughts? I'm close to picking up Chi and dropping Indy. I know I'm weak at WR, but so far trades haven't worked out. Currently looking at starting:

 

QB: Rivers, Warner

 

RB: Slaton, Brown

 

WR: VJax, Boldin, Jennings, Smith (Car)

 

TE: Witten

 

K: Kaeding

 

DEF: Chi

 

As for RB's - LT might go off this week, but how many time have said that and hasn't. Forte has Cutler throwing the ball (and not much his way) so not sure can take a chance. Rice looks good but also concerned about Denver's D - maybe he'll beat on them, but... Opposing thoughts or suggestions always welcome!

I'd go Slaton & Rice. Slaton is a no-brainer. Rice will get his & I have a feeling (biased) that the Jets will do a decent job vs the run.

 

I like Burleson. They're going to have to air it out & Burleson has proved to be their most reliable WR.

 

Definitley take the CHI D - anyone vs. Cleveland is good.
