I wrote a book. Thriller. FBI agent, reservations, missing kids, some Ojibwe spirit stuff. Got some pretty good feedback from my ARC folks I sent it out to. Several were LEO's and Indians. Lots of positive responses. So I guess I got those parts right. I cleaned it up and sent it out to a handful of agents. We'll see how she goes. Anyone readers for fun and leisure? I have a few series planned. Mostly procedural cop/supernatural stuff set in Indian Country. Think Darkwinds meets Jack Reacher.

Thanks. Without getting into the deeper discussion of our current SCOTUS, there is some nuance to this. Per multiple sources (I used the NAACP because it's very straightforward): ICE has been arresting US citizens, which have the right to politely tell ICE, essentially, to fock right off. Unless someone is directly interfering with operations (and I suspect a halfways decent lawyer could easily claim that blowing a whistle/honking a car horn does not constitute direct interference) ICE has little jurisdiction over you. So an ICE officer stopping and questioning an American citizen on the street based solely on their skin color, language, or accent is absolutely a violation of constitutional rights.

Aside from the 4th amendment "show me your papers" constitutional violations, there have been acts of violence perpetrated by ICE against peaceful demonstrators, a violation of 1st amendment rights of assembly and speech. Not to mention ICE arresting and illegally detaining American Citizens without charges and preventing them from speaking to a lawyer, all additional constitutional violations. The entire deployment is almost certainly unconstitutional as well, but since the judiciary moves so slowly, the damage will be done before that becomes public.
