  1. I started out mopping the floor just like you TNG. But now...now I'm washing lettuce. Soon I'll be on fries; then the grill. And pretty soon, I'll make assistant manager, and that's when the big bucks start rolling in.

  2. In the 50s, women didn’t work and stayed home to raise children. Single parenting or illegitimate children were a no-no. Social programs were done by churches or other means, if you got money from the govt you were disabled or literally could NOT work. We cared for the elderly in our own homes, rarely would we send grandma off to die with strangers. The family unit was more valued. Education was a huge thing. College wasn’t something that bankrupted families and neither were medical bills. Men worked HARD and didn’t have the slightest inkling that “maybe they were really a girl.” We had clearly defined gender roles. You cannot compare post WW2 American culture with today; the culture from the 50s doesn’t exist…because WOKE. And women’s liberation/feminism (which traditional feminism doesn’t even exist anymore). Again, because WOKE. And yes, I am a woman. But I’ve said for years that one of the worst things to happen for our society is women entering the workforce. That’s a story for another time.

  8. MAGA is a cult of dumb, gullible people (mostly dumb men), so let’s speak clearly. Trump was best friends with Epstein and raped underaged girls. MAGA keeps deflecting, whatabouting, and both sidsing the issue because they know it’s true. But Trump is their cult leader, so they defend him ardently every day like cucks. Everyone on a message board is an “alias”. This handle is 25 years strong. Had the same handle at FBG too, unlike many cowards here. Glad I could clear that up.

  14. Revisionist history 101, you get an A. Just for one example: you said no government handouts? The GI Bill handed out incredible amounts of money for white people to get mortgages. And since I’m sure somebody will say it wasn’t ONLY for white people… I will acknowledge that in some northern states some black peopele got benefits… at a rate of 1 black person getting a mortgage for every 670 white people who got one. So, it wasn’t 100% discrimination, just well over 99%. The story was similar for educational benefits, although black people got a slightly higher share than 1%. The GOP and big business have a vested interested in this argument. The real issue is the steady path toward wealth redistribution from workers to billionaires. If they can convince enough people that the “real” reason they are the richest people of all time is “woke”? Then they can keep reverse robin-hooding us. Culture wars are one of the most clever inventions of the billionaire class. Instead of people wanting to return to high taxes on the rich of the 50s, they get people yearning for the cultural nostalgia of that boom time. You’re right there’s no going back. These oligarchs are well-entrenched.

  22. I'd pay if he just did 10 of his most popular tunes and the entire Darkness on the Edge of Town album. Realistically, he'll play at most two of those songs: Badlands and Prove It All Night. Zero chance he goes deep and includes Something in the Night, Racing in the Street, the title track, or Candy's Room. I don't want to hear Hungry Heart, Rosalita, or Glory Days.

I hope to keep it at least 10-15 years and have had no reason to even consider replacing it. OLED is an amazing technology with perfect black levels, which is hugely important for picture quality.

  31. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/bruce-springsteen-e-street-band-united-states-tour-1235517787/ Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Announce ‘Land of Hope and Dreams’ U.S. Tour Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are bringing their politically charged Land of Hope and Dreams tour to North America in the spring for a run of arena and stadium dates. It kicks off March 31 in Minneapolis at the Target Center, and wraps up May 27 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Ticket sales start on Friday. “We are living through dark, disturbing and dangerous times, but do not despair — the cavalry is coming!” Springsteen says in a statement. “Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be taking the stage this spring from Minneapolis to California to Texas to Washington, D.C. for the Land of Hope And Dreams American Tour. We will be rocking your town in celebration and in defense of America — American democracy, American freedom, our American Constitution and our sacred American dream — all of which are under attack by our wannabe king and his rogue government in Washington, D.C. Everyone, regardless of where you stand or what you believe in, is welcome — so come on out and join the United Free Republic of E Street Nation for an American spring of Rock ‘n’ Rebellion! I’ll see you there!” Last summer, Springsteen and the E Street Band played stadiums in Europe on the initial leg of the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour. “The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock & roll, in dangerous times,” he told the crowd on opening night. “In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, and has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration. Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experience to rise with us, raise your voices against the authoritarianism, and let freedom ring. This is ‘Land of Hope and Dreams.’” This took place before Donald Trump flooded Minneapolis with ICE officers, resulting in the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Springsteen responded to the tragedies with the protest song “Streets of Minneapolis,” which he performed Jan. 30 during a surprise appearance at Tom Morello’s A Concert of Solidarity & Resistance to Defend Minnesota! at the Minneapolis club First Avenue. Earlier that month, Springsteen made a guest appearance at the annual Light of Days benefit concert. “Right now we are living through incredibly critical times,” he said that night. “The United States, the ideals and the value for which it stood for the past 250 years, is being tested like it has never been in modern times. Those values and those ideals have never been as endangered as they are right now.” “If you believe in the power of law and that no one stands above it,” he continued, “if you stand against heavily-armed masked federal troops invading an American city, using gestapo tactics against our fellow citizens, if you believe you don’t deserve to be murdered for exercising your American right to protest, then send a message to this president, as the mayor of the city said: ICE should get the out of Minneapolis.” If Springsteen sticks to roughly the same set as Europe last summer, expect plenty of politically-themed songs like “Rainmaker,” “Long Walk Home,” and Bob Dylan’s “Chimes of Freedom.” It’s also a near-certainty he’ll play “Streets of Minneapolis” as well. The routing itself sends a message by beginning in Minneapolis and wrapping up near Trump’s backyard in D.C.

  39. My first year of playing fantasy football, I drafted Jason Hanson as my kicker. So, the season started and I was watching the Lions week one game. When their drive stalled in the redzone, I momentarily felt a sense of joy burst forth because Hanson was going to come on and kick a field goal. The emotional baggage was too great. Hanson was indeed a great FF and RL kicker and I love him dearly, but from then on, after year one, I never ever, ever, ever drafted a Lions kicker again.

But I’m more than happy to agree with anyone on the overspending by either party that we could better use that money to help those people out if needed. But right now it’s spend spend and use use use.
