  4. If you spent the 80s in urban or suburban America, this one probably wasn’t on your radar all that much. But in smaller town America, like where I was, this song resonated big time and must be included as such. The album was hugely popular in small town/rural America, too. 13.03- Small Town, John Cougar Mellencamp

  5. Rhetorical question...Don't you have anything better to do with your time than create threads like this?

  6. Yeah it was Mexicans that helped build where you live, right? And yes, Chinese workers helped build the railroads. You got me, the slaves didn’t build anything that didn’t exist while slavery was still legal. You’re not doing a very good job arguing that it was largely white Europeans responsible though lol. You know you don’t have to whatabout something about white people also being slaves somewhere else in the world at some point throughout history every time slaves in the US are mentioned, right? Slavery in the US was a terrible thing, it’s ok to just admit it.

  9. Not only is Kushner related to Trump, he has massive conflicts of interest due to financial entanglements with the Saudis. Oh, and he did promise not to get involved in Trump’s 2nd term. And he is not a government official, so it’s not legal for him to negotiate on America’s behalf. Illegal, unethical, and downright lying. He fits in PERFECTLY with this administration.

  16. Blackrock, et al are more than likely overleveraged in that their debts outweigh their assets by 30 to 1 or more. A run on the bank so to speak will wipe them out. This is why they are limiting withdrawals. Same thing happened in 2008 with the wall street firms. so called smartest people in the world f---d up with bad investments. WE the little guys, taxpayers bailed them out except for Lehman Bros. not sure if this is 2008 all over again but loosening credit limits by banks or the mortgage brokers is not a good idea at all.

  22. I would too. Not sure how high I'd be willing to spend ... late 2nd.?. I don't know yet. Haven't done my research. He's definitely intriguing. Plays like a video game with the cuts and fast bursts - and he can catch. Chiefs used to throw a lot of to Rbs... though they've fallen off a cliff in that department in recent years. Chiefs got rid of Hunt, so might get bulk of goal line work. I'm not worried about injuries. Walker's prior injuries have all been Grd 1 or 2 sprains. Nothing too serious and played a full season last year. He's only 25 without much millage.

  30. The government investing in companies is troubling as it reeks of corrupt insider ball but first, there isn't much difference in parties. This is not a Trump-era pox only, we'd dealt with massive pharmaceutical subsidies and green energy in a similar manner. It infects both parties and looking around the country Democrats seem far more implicated, let alone incompetent. And second the explanation makes sense... there is a rhyme and reason to it: they want to rely less on Chinese companies and onshore domestic jobs. I'm not an expert on such things but realize there is real danger there and an opportunity for self dealing. After all the demonstratable fake outrage directed at President Trump, I suffer from burnout. Its hard to take accusations against him seriously anymore. Maybe the 256th time is the charm but I miss it in the noise. The oil market investing is still in discussion phase, while the farm subsidies use tariff money profits to mitigate the damage done by retaliatory tariffs. The main thrust potentially dipping in the oil market is to drive down consumer costs, but this was just a trial balloon. Meanwhile the subsidies are protecting supply lines from potentially hostile adversaries and to provide jobs locally.

  37. Nope. Not even close. Even if you think she’s personally awful there is no way she would have assembled the incompetent group of corrupt clowns around her that Trump has. For that reason alone she would be preferable.

  38. You’re completely missing the point here. It’s not a question of whether or not it was deliberate; I’m 100% sure it wasn’t. It’s how Trump and his team reacted: by denying it, by suggesting it was the Iranians, by acting ignorant of the facts. It was the exact same response to the two deaths in Minnesota and it comes from Trump himself. He can’t acknowledge mistakes because he thinks it makes him look weak. So he lies and looks foolish instead and what it really does is show off his insecurity. And if the lies start to look too ridiculous he fires whomever he told to lie- like Kristi Noem- eventually he’ll probably fire Hegseth here if this situation blows up. I know you approve of this guy’s policies but what you need to realize that, putting aside political considerations, this dude is not competent as Commander in Chief. Like General MacClellan, he is a coward, a big talker whose main concern is how he looks personally, never willing to take responsibility and always willing to throw anyone and everyone under the bus. You and millions of others should have realized this during Covid and in January of 2021. You didn’t but at least you should wake up to it now.

  39. I think mopping up their afterwards would be easy too, because I participated in that personally. I had been in 2nd Armor Division (Forward) which was a tank unit. And despite them having endured five weeks of bombing by the time we came through, there was still plenty of dug in hardware left requiring us to blow up. We're skipping that part this time, probably because it takes so long and the temptation is to stick around and keep doing it. Also, moving tanks around is a chore, It takes a long time for a unit like ours to deploy. When the air war started, we were still in port waiting for the ships with our equipment to arrive. The war was already like ten days old before we hit the front lines. Maybe President Trump was in too much of a hurry.
