    Yes.
  4. My wife (34C) has a terminal illness of an autoimmune variety. When she was first diagnosed in 2013 I always thought “terminal” meant “Ya dyin’ next week” but they use it to refer to any illness that will measurably shorten your life expectancy. So, she’s been in remission since 2014 and has done great. But she’s no longer in remission as of today. I’ve known all this time that it would happen and that we’d have to face hospitalization and treatment again, but I’ve been lying to myself about it. Feeling devastated.

    Wife No Longer in Remission

Bloodwork came back pretty bad today. Numbers dropped over 90%. We’re at the cancer center right now (this is a blood disorder, not cancer) and she’s in the transfusion room getting her treatment. ~SIGH~
  6. That’s what I’ve always claimed but, strangely enough, I’ve grown both more liberal AND more conservative in the last 10 years.
  7. I don’t even know what I am today at age 50. Conservative? Liberal? Dysfunctional? My daughter is gay. And I love her g/f in a heartbreaking paternal way. I don’t hate the trans; I pity them. I believe racism exists, but at a limited personal level rather than something systemic. I want as little government as possible. I want women not to have abortions, but I don’t know if I want it illegal. I respect workers and the uneducated. I support a form of social security for the young. I want pure religious freedom. I like some form of some kind of nationalized police. I want taxes slashed. Unchecked illegal immigration is reckless, emotions withdrawn. I think I’m just dysfunctional. But I know one thing— I can listen to other ideas, present my own, disagree if necessary and say “I might be wrong.” Maybe I should run for president.
  8. Well, I’d disagree with you on this and also mention that you avoided my first point, which is how comfortable liberals are using the word “uneducated” as a slur. As for our disagreement, I say you can’t deconstruct society along lines of education or vocation. Sticking with my paraphrasing of Emerson, man is not a farmer or IT guy or claim adjuster or teacher or chemist— man is all. We cannot value Steve Jobs for developing Apple without equally valuing the people who made the materials he used, fabricated his components, manufactured his packaging, created his marketing, delivered his products, etc. There are no jets without the rivet maker. ”Uneducated” should not be used as a slur. Based on what i’ve read in posts from you, I think you know that’s true. I ask you to stop using that word in that way.

    Wife No Longer in Remission

Following up my LOOK AT ME post with a little LOOK AT MEEEEEEEE… Wifey’s doing pretty well. First line med has improved her bloodwork results considerably. Follow-up labs tomorrow to check numbers again. The improvement was expected. The real test will be in the following 1-2 weeks to see if they maintain or drop right back down. The nice thing here is that the hematologist has told us that if she doesn’t improve and maintain, he’s going right to the miracle drug. No fkking around. Just wants to try this first-line so that the miracle drug can be reserved for the future in case sh*t ever gets completely sideways. Apparently, with her disorder, there’s data that some patients only respond to a treatment once and then it’s never effective for them again.
  10. Why are liberal commentators soooo hip to insulting the uneducated or using the term “uneducated” to belittle people? Newsflash: there are loads of uneducated people in the world and they 100% every bit as valuable and meaningful as anyone with an education. In some ways, they could be considered better citizens. Ralph Waldo Emerson stated that broad and varied lived experience is what forms character and character is a necessary ingredient for the formation of true intellect. Thus, character is higher than intellect. Education does not change the value of a man.

    Trump/Biden in a Nutshell

My belief, and I can’t say it’s anything more than that, is that Trump would love for everyone to have success and wealth. Whereas the political machine, of which Biden is a part, cares about their hold on power and what it can do for them personally regardless of the people.

Not a virus. Autoimmune disorder. In a nutshell, her immune system is making antibodies that are killing her platelets. Right now she has 6 large purple bruises, hundreds of petechial hemorrhages and bleeding gums/hard palate. Sounds worse than it is. Starting first-stage pharmaceuticals already today, hopefully avoiding internal bleeding. Excellent medical system we have!

    Wife No Longer in Remission

It’s a blood disorder. Not cancer, but treated by the same hematologists and oncologists. The sh*t thing is how she has gone from just-fine to full-blown re-emergence in just 24 hours.

  19. Totality here in Indy. Gotta say, it was so much cooler than I expected. Really impressed me. Was super nice having my semi-skeptical too-cool-for-that son here and witnessing his awe. I got a little misty.
  20. That offensive foul was 100% bogus. That was a perfect screen. Scam.

    Gas vs hybrid vs electric

Haven’t read all this thread, so maybe others feel the same way as me. For me, the hybrid is just super sensible. I k know there is still a battery disposal conundrum, but automatically switching between gas and electric and self-charging…just so sensible. My employer provides my wheels but, if I needed to buy my own, I’d certainly give the hybrids a serious look.

    What a world

No, no. You’ve chosen Jesus. Others have chosen nothing. Why have you chosen Jesus? In John 15 he says that because he came and spoke of the father and performed miracles, those who heard and saw had no excuse for rejecting him. That’s nice for people alive 2k years ago, I suppose. People today have been given nothing. People today have only a 2k year old account from purported witnesses. And in light of the condition of man, unbelief is the most reasonable expectation. So, again, I ask why you choose to believe when He has not shown you the same grace he showed to people 2k years ago. Please do not answer “Faith” as that is a cop-out that allows you to avoid explaining your beliefs.
  24. Well, not necessarily. This would just be ignorance. Countless ignorant generalizations would be unracist.
