  1. It is all about the money, if they are going to have to play 18 games, then they will want more money.

It is the way the world works, nobody wants to work more hours for the same amount of money no matter what job they do.

The NFL is the same, they want more games to make more money...more money for everybody will win in the end. Everybody knows it is coming they have been talking about it for years now.

The NFL knows people will watch every week, no matter if there are 20 games.

This is a business for both sides, a business and entertainment and nothing more. Most people won't remember who won the superbowl five years ago without somebody telling them or without looking it up.

In the end more games means more money for everybody, throw in all the gambling and everybody wins.

The quality of the game, the injuries and all else takes a back seat to the mighty dollar and this will never change.

I didn't read that the players want this, the NFL wants it. I think it's great for them to play more games, but to put a cap on how many games a healthy player is allowed to play in seems dumb

I should have said the players only want to play 17 games not 18 games/

Instead of banning the play, I don't know why they don't just officiate it correctly (using replay assist if necessary).  The play will naturally go away if 4th and 1 too often turns into 4th and 6.

Right...they do not officiate it right. They never call linemen for moving too soon and they never call forward progress stopped and if you don't call that, then eventually it will be a touchdown.

  4. Browns fan here.

I must say that I am happy just because there was some value in the pick...he slid until the 5th round.....any issues boot him out and no big deal.

That is a big deal if you spend an early round draft pick on him.

I did not like the Browns spending a 3rd round draft pick on Gabriel....way to soon to draft him IMO. At that point in the draft the safety from ND would have benefited us more...again just my opinion.

I am not a huge fan of Sanders, but if anyone should be humbled and have a chip on his shoulder, it should be him.

He will have a wonderful mentor in Cleveland in Joe Flacco. The question to whether Sanders can succeed or not, well I believe that is entirely up to him.

You can put your head down and work or you can go the other direction, that will be on him.

But as far where he was drafted, I have issues with that at all.

A lot can happen between now and the beginning of next season, but there is no reason to think Henry can't put up another respectable, if not spectacular, season or two (even though the wheels tend to fall off quickly for RBs).  Several backs have put up great numbers in their early 30s - Curtis Martin comes to mind.  I can also see Henry taking on a Marcus Allen/Jerome Bettis role somewhere before he retires.

    Yes sir, my thoughts exactly.
