    Darren Mcfadden

For some reason, the Oak coaches have a crush on Justin Fargas every year. That backfield is so muddled I wouldn't take Run DMC until I alread had two starters. Drafting him as a starter in your lineup is one of the riskier moves to make this season. So, odds are I have to pass on the guy, and I'll sleep well.

League now starts 3 WR's and a TE

I doubt the value of the third WR will be more than the remaining RBs in round 3. You could distance yourself in WR value at round 1 and 2. But then the receivers all look a little more like every other receiver. I'd take a RB in the third round but have no trouble with WR/WR in the first two. This year seems very friendly to that strat. Or at least, not as risky as prior years. So many mock drafts I've seen fairly good RB talent fall.
  3. At this point, its almost a certainty Favre will be dressing up in purple on Sundays. Does it help, hurt or do nothing to AP's value? I know pundits saying MJD or Turner is their choice for #1. I wonder if that opinion has changed. I'm still undecided on who the #1 overall pick is. Not sure I'd want the top spot.

    Favre

Ed Werder had nothing to report so he decides to throw out a nugget you might find on the show TMZ. A source says Favre feels obligated? As opposed to Favre not feeling obliged to play for a team that wants him for 10 mil. This is drivel from Werder. Non news. Non report.

    Santonio Holmes: What's his value?

Nice analysis. Thanks. You don't think losing Nate Washington helps him grab an extra 15-20 balls this year? Hines Ward is a year older. Ugh. This guy really is a headache. Maybe its best to avoid him at his current value. I generally go RB/RB in the first two rounds. That first WR I pick is probably the biggest pick in every draft for me. That WR has simply got to produce. I've won leagues the years I grabbed Housh, or Braylon Edwards (his star year), or Brandon Marshall with that pick on their big years. So crucial. Years I bomb are when that WR pick is mediocre or a bust. I pride myself on making the most of that pick.
  6. I've read enough experts wax on and on about taking MJD or Turner #1 overall. But I'm starting to join the camp about AP #1 given this thread and Favre helming the O. I disagree about them being at the same skill set. Favre is a million times more accurate than Jackson will ever be at any point in his, what looks like, short NFL career. Frankly, I'm surprised Tavaris is a starting QB in the NFL. He's backup material through and through. I've seen Favre make countless incredible timing throws. Countless needles thread while on the move. Etc. I've seen Tavaris make a couple.

    Is Turner overlooked here?

Didn't Turner have a busted hand last year for a stretch. He may put up better catch totals than last year if he has both thumbs. He caught balls as a third down back in San Diego right?
  8. HAHA. Nice. Thanks.

You can't predict injury. Its either going to happen or it isn't. I can predict that a healthy S-Jax for 16 weeks stands a fair chance at being crowned Fantasy MVP. And you'll be able to get this guy middle of the first round to late first round. He stays healthy this year, and he's the same guy next year with the risk, but you have to take him at 1 or 2 overall. Jump on the fallen stock this year would be my advice. I'm not taking Chris Johnson over him because Johnson didn't get hurt last year. Or Steve Slaton. Those two could go down on their first carry of the year. You just never know so I don't put any stake in injury concerns. Every year is different. I'm another guy that got burned by him last year but I'd still take him again. No hesitation.

    DeAngelo, Gore, Slaton, Barber?

I'm favoring Slaton because I hate D-Will's schedule. Its unkind almost every week.
  11. Jackson's schedule is infinitely better this year.
  12. I won both my leagues one year. I had Larry Johnson and Tony Gonzolez in both leagues the year they went crazy in the playoffs. LJ went nuts all year, and Gonzo had a great playoff run along with him. I was the fantasy King of my Domain. HAHA.

The Rams O-line and blocking doesn't qualify as "shaky" to me so much this year. Last year, no question. They drafted Jason Smith at #2 overall. Signed Jason Brown as their new and improved Center. And signed FB Mike Karney and a blocking TE in Billy Bajema. And Jackson still had big games last year without those additions. Furthermore, the Rams 2009 schedule is a joke.

    Ronnie Brown Vs. Pierre Thomas

IMO, Ronnie is the most overrated RB in fantasy this year. I don't like his O-Line, Ricky, his injury history, his recovery, his dismal second half of the season last year and finally, the Miami schedule this year. Plus, you have to burn a fairly early pick on him. Let someone else take what I think is a bad value and a big risk. Thomas and I don't think its close.

He's the goal line back. He's the third down receiving back. He's the 1st and 2nd down back between the 20s. He's got no competition in the backfield. He can get tough yards at the goal and has the speed to take it to the house from long range. He's proven he can be a fantasy MVP. I had him last year. He disappointed but I wouldn't hesitate to take him again. He does it all and that's the #1 RB pedigree I look for in my first round selection. Its academic.
