Going WR-WR...Which Two Would You Take?

If you are going to go WR-WR, then you have to not only look at the WR talent, but the talent at QB. Therefore, you have to rule out Owens, because I think the jury is out on Romo. He may be great or just average. To me that leaves 3 possibilities at these picks: Chad J Holt Harrison or maybe even Wayne

    Kasia Kraszewskej...how hot, 1-10?

Wow! I would have trouble giving less than a 9. Maybe a 9.5. Hafta check out the NSFW at home.

Devin Hester has to be in the team picture, no?

    Soda Pole

I actually drink WAY too much soda and my Doc is sorta on me for health reasons. I actually like TAB as my soda of choice. Hard to find, but to us addicts, it has a way of finding us.

    So my niece

Pretty girl, but I don't know about the model thing. Her legs look a little too big in the upper thighs. Maybe I am being too critical, I dunno.

How Would You Rank these Four Backs?

Disclaimer: I do own Henry and Bush in one re-draft league we did early this year. I had the choice of ALL of these backs with my first pick and 2 of them with my 2nd pick. Bush - in a PPR league he adds a ton of value and I love what Sean Payton is building down there in the bayou. Henry - situation is just too good. I know Shanny has done the Denver-Flip-Flop on us, but Henry has a ton of talent and with the young QB, they should run-run-un. McGahee - great situation for a good but not spectacular RB. The defense is great and Willis should get plenty of 4th quarter touches. Maroney - long term, I like him better than Bush, but for 2007, I rank him last among the 4. I was disppointed in his running last year overall. He seemed to have trouble with the tough yards. I am a little bothered by reports of damage in that one shoulder. With all the new weapons in NE, just not sure if they will pound things with th running attack. I would not blame others for ranking him #1 among these 4, but at least right now, I would not.

    Dynasty Rookie Rankings

I too like Gonzalez as the 2nd or 3rd WR out of this draft. From what I read he runs great routes and obviously he is on a great offense. Whoever made the point about C Henry is right on. The dynasty leagues I am involved in value RB's way higher than may even be logical. For that reason, I think the 2nd round is a good place to get WR's, after using the first round on "future" RB potential, even if it means you make a mistake. Sometimes that seems a little goofy to me, but because the whole fantasy draft mirrors the NFL draft as being somewhat of a crapshoot, I would rather take a flyer on a RB in the first and try to hit a home run. This year seems like one of the worst years for RBs, so maybe after the Big 3, you are better off trying to strengthen your team, even with a position like TE or QB in the first round. I dunno. I am still weighing things, but I probably still take a RB and take my chances, at least until you get to 1.08 or 1.09.

My baby girl might need tubes in her ears...

Both of my sons needed tubes and the younger one might need them again (chronic ear infections). For swimming and the like we used ear plugs with a velco strap over the ears that held them in place. Looks a little goofy, especially for a boy, but it sorta was necessary. The tubes drop out by themselves after some time, which varies from kid to kid. My kid lost them w/i 2-3 months, but I have heard they can stay in later.

1st day done, how'd your team do?

I agree with Walter's assessment on Chicago's draft. Thought that they could have used other depth then a DE in the 2nd, but I have learned to trust Angelo's judgement a little more than I used to, after last year. They robbed San Diego in that deal, so hopefully they can make those extra picks count. Just an observation: From the little I read about players and team needs, I think San Francisco has had an awesome draft so far.
  12. I have a feeling the Bears would love for a player to drop down to them so they caould trade out of the first round and pick up a 2nd and another pick. THAT is my prediction for Chicago.
  13. Not a Lion's fan, but I am assuming the Simeon Rice trade rumor is crap. I think that would be a terrible deal for the Lions and I can't believe even Millen would make that. I know Millen has made some poor decisions in the past, but......

    KC Shopping Larry Johnson?

I agree that KC could forget about getting 2 first rounders for Johnson in a trade. THAT may be what he is worth to them (probably more), but the NFL teams put high value in their draft picks. Ever since the salary cap was instituted, this is even more the case. For crying out loud, Edgerin James was traded for what a couple years back? Marshall Faulk went for a 2nd rounder? Even Culpepper, who was playing at a pretty high level back then went for a 2nd rounder.

A good cleaning lady is hard to find. Tell her to come to your house every other week and clean it. She said "anything"! The wife will love you for it!

You are "right on" about Gibsons. Doesn't matter if it is Sunday or Monday or Friday.

I will second Twin Anchors. Been there and the ribs are great. Local not fancy restaurant, but with comfortable decor. Great area a quick cab ride from downtown. Harry Caray's, although a tourist hangout, has very good food. In fact, one of the best steaks I ever had was at a private party in that restaurant. Another place I like is the Half Shell on Diversey near Clark. It is in the basement of an apartment building. Great seafood but it is sorta a dive. Another seafood place is on Hubbard St just east of State Street.....Shaw's Crabhouse.

There is excellent Italian. Personally, I think the Taylor Street area is where you should go, but maybe on your one visit you would be better off staying downtown. ' Rosebud on Rush street is very good. Close to your hotel. I love Italian, but I can't get you to the local joints I like to go. Let me ask around for more Italian downtown. Gibson's is always a good choice and if the weather is good, plenty of "sightseeing" in that area.

Heaven on Seven has pretty good Cajun/Louisiana food. You cannot beat the steak places like Capitol Grill. You want to check out some good talent and food? Go to Gibson's on Rush street. Hugo's Frog Bar is very good right down the street from Gibsons. (They have a good mix of food).

    Bears Draft Needs

Pretty much agree with Walter and Swamp. I would love one of the OT's like Sears and maybe Jason Hill (WR) in the 2nd, but I have a feeling the Bears will go DT with one of the early picks to replance Tank.

I like his really old stuff and his short stories are awesome. I have read a lot of his stuff, but have not yet read the Dark Tower series.

    Darryl Stingley dies

I remember what a good player Stingley used to be and the hit on him was tragic. I think you are correct that Tatum never met with Stingley. When he wrote that book sometime after the incident called, They Call Me Assassin, it told me everything I needed to know about Tatum. I am sorry Tatum has had his own health issues, but I wonder if his life might have been better if he had addressed the situation like a man.

    danny snyder: crack smoker

Walter, I am not sure my trade is "out of whack" given that I said I want to be over whelmed to make an offer. I agree with your point that the Skins are probably not gonna do the deal I threw out there. I understand Briggs'point and I understand the Bears' points. I wish there was a way to satisfy both while cutting out Rosenhaus. Wishful thinking on my part.
