    Spicy beer

Just about 6 years...I think we did 250bbl our first year lol. Yes and yes! We do a yearly imperial stout bottle release that's always barrel aged. Last years was aged in tequila barrels with lemons, limes and oranges. It tasted like a margarita stout (to the chagrin of some). This year we just did bourbon barrels (second turn, so only mild barrel effects) - beer in those before was a barleywine. Also do some sours and saisons in wine barrels which we usually infect with various bugs and/or brett. If you are gay for liking good beer then I am full blown LGBTQ...

Very small micro (~3,000bbl per year) out of CT, I'm one of the co-founders, my partner and I share head brewing duties still. Finally up to about 9 employees so we can focus a little more time on the business side but recipe development and most of the regular production duties are still on us. We are on the lookout for a head brewer though!

Well some people think McDonald's makes a good burger too...not much you are gonna do to change their mind I would say though, if you are a macro lager guy then try a great micro lager...hell, I drink the shite outta Jack's Abby House Lager. It's delicious...a six of pounders is like 10 bucks too.

The problem with spicy beer is that usually in the "lighter" styles too much actual vegetable flavor comes through which can be off-putting. It can be tricky to get the heat without an overwhelming flavor of peppers. Having said that, one of my favorite iterations of our imperial stout was done with anchos and sun dried tomatoes...the mild heat and smokiness from the ancho blended perfectly with the pungent flavor of the sun dried tomatoes.

You have to applaud the macro guys, their marketing is genius (and more times than not pretty funny). The sheer scope of how much of the supply chain they control is mind boggling. Their ability to put out a living product that has no perceptible variance at gargantuan volumes...yes, I am jealous.

This is exactly the point! It isn't for everyone...but for those who really enjoy beer there hasn't been a better time to be alive

They do not - the craft/micro designation (where these numbers were pulled from) says: Less than 25 percent of the craft brewery is owned or controlled (or equivalent economic interest) by a beverage alcohol industry member that is not itself a craft brewer.

10 years ago craft was trendy...today though it surely isn't. While it's not taking down the big boys anytime soon, craft broke 13% of market share last year (if you said craft would ever break 10% just a few years ago you were considered crazy). Craft retail is up to a 24% market share as well. These numbers also happened when the overall beer market was down 1%.

Because they are winning despite him and losing because of him. I am disgruntled so maybe I am being a tad too harsh...but I am all in for Richard...please baby jeebus...

My only wish for turkey day is the Bills drop 28 points in the first half and Jerruh fires the redboob at halftime and lets Richard get his chance...too much to ask for?

    4K Ultra HD

Agreed, resolution looked decent but they messed up the HDR/HLG implementation, colors were muted - apparently only DTV and maybe one other provider got the HDR signal.

    4K Ultra HD

That article missed a couple key points - much more important than resolution, the game will also be in HDR (via HLG). Color space/volume is where all the "wow" factor comes in since increased resolution has diminishing returns. Having said that, 1080p --> 2160p up-conversion can be done extremely well and is almost always better done at the source. The most premium TVs, AVRs, etc. (usually) don't have the ability to upscale nearly as well. Will be watching on Fubo...

I do love that RS5... Apologies for being a poser

    Volkswagon Homos

Honestly, I think it depends. If your VW was built in the motherland or mexico...I know QC should be the same regardless but it just "seems" that all the Jettas and whatnot that are built down there are crappier. Our 09 Tiguan has around 80k on it already - no issues whatsoever besides replacing a couple of bulbs.

I love my VW and I thought the commercial was funny... However a lot of the VW scene is just about how low they can get their cars, etc which makes me At the gas station last week... Kid comes up and says: "Man, your R looks like a truck yo, you need to lower it!" Me: "But I track once in a while and just lowering your car can have serious negative effects on the suspension geometry if you dont know what you are doing or why you are doing it." Kid: "But you car looks like a SUV..." Me: "Form over function, everyone has different goals." Kid: "My car handles great and it's..." (I tuned out here he rambled off all his suspension mods) He pulled away in his 90's Jetta with the tires rubbing the fenders...sigh...

    Lasik surgery...

Had it done about 7 years ago, still have 20/15 vision. Would do it again in a heartbeat - best money I have ever spent on myself. I also had pretty bad astigmatisms, so before I could even have the lasik I needed to have an AK procedure.

    Cars that give me erectshons

Fair enough. I was more curious than pissed as to the rice comment. As crazy as it sounds that is one of the reasons I love the R - everyone says, "you paid WHAT for a Golf" But going into this purchase I had a few prerequisites that not many cars meet. This is still my daily driver so it must be: practical (4 doors, preferable), hatch (preferable), manual, AWD, reliable, fairly quick and decent gas mileage. Sucks that not many cars fit that bill. As I mentioned I lean towards VW/Audi/German cars. Audi S4 is nice but too pricey IMO. The A3 is ok but the R has it beat in every area. EVO/STI are out - serious lack of refinement and no way could that be my DD regardless of how well they perform. The 1M is a nice machine but I just don't like the looks at all. APR is known in the VW/Audi world for making seriously reliable mods - they partner with VW Racing and mod all their cars, etc. But yeah, when adding that much power there is always the chance of something becoming less reliable. Have a DXD clutch/flywheel, rated for ~500ftlb - I am well under that and I don't launch or do anything too silly so it should last. The engine in the R is actually the older (~4 years) EA113 which VW upgraded with bigger injectors, stronger rods, bottom end, etc. VW did a really nice job with this generation R. Worst things is it still has a timing belt where the new EA888 have a chain and since it's a direct injection motor, you have the cam follower that needs to be replaced every 20-25k miles.

Haha, that's cause that guy has a WOT box installed. Embarrassed to admit it but I don't have my boost gauge installed. I had a digital one earlier reading from OBDII but it was not accurate...so going back to analog/boost tap. Although if you notice that guys gauge in the video it looks pretty pointless I'll have to run some diagnostic logging. Before I went with the BT kit, the stock turbo was peaking between 24-25 and falls to around 16-18 at redline (~7100rpm) this was with a tune, intake, HPFP and full TBE.

    Cars that give me erectshons

You caught me, I lie on FF forums about my car's 0-60 times... But in case you are actually interested - this is the exact same setup I have. Difference is my R is blue and does not have aftermarket wheels...same BT kit, exhaust and tune... Now is it ok that my car does sub-4? Sorry that it's just a golf ETA: How is a VW rice? Or is it any forced induction car is rice-y to you?

No no, I went upgraded turbo...plus the ancillary supporting mods. I'm gonna eventually snag a go-pro to take some vids.

While I agree that modifying your car is definitely never an economically sound idea, you can have an "awesome" car and still have something practical. My car is my daily driver, a 4 door hatch with two car seats in the back, gets ~28mpg (when I'm driving spirited it's still a decent 23mpg), it just happens to go 0-60 in under 4 seconds
